Naomi Bennett is a fertility specialist at Oceanside Wellness Centre in Los, Angeles, California.  Naomi works alongside her ex-husband, Sam, with whom she shares a relatively friendly but often strained relationship and a teenage daughter named Maya. 

After her divorce, Naomi has struggled to cope with her new single lifestyle and often leans on her best friend from medical school, Addison Montgomery for moral support and the occasional slice of chocolate cake.
