Dr. Cristina Yang is incredibly focused and driven, extremely competitive, and one of the best surgical residents at Seattle Grace Hospital. Cristina graduated first in her class at medical school and has excellent surgical skills. Cristina also works alongside her best friend, Dr. Meredith Grey, and has a history of on again, off again relationships with her mentors, most recently Preston Burke, a world renowned cardiologist who ulitmately left her at the altar. Christina most recent relationship has been with attending trauma surgeon Major Owen Hunt, who was honorably discharged from the Army and was on a forward surgical team in the Iraq War.
