You went with realistic ending and showed great respect for your characters. They (especially Lily) needs time to sort themselves out and it was an excellent point about "young love" and needing to learn each other again. They had both been so caught up in the young love aspect that they sort of breezed by his betrayal and the fact that he left to begin with. So, all that is to say I am very pleased with the ending.
Now......
You writing a sequel right? With them getting closer and crazy Nick in the background right? You're starting that now right? Right? RIGHT? I can't hear you.... Okay, I'll look for that new story next week.

This was a perfect, open-ended conclusion to a drama filled story, LOL.
I had sympathy for both Billy and Lily in this fic. They both made some poor decisions en route to this place they ended up. But I'm glad they arrived at a point where they could ackowledge those mistakes, and learn from them to hopefully become better people, with a stronger relationship.

Wow don't what to say but wow amazing chapter. We know why billy left lily glad he told her the truth. But it like she said both men want her so badly they didn't care they hurt her or not. It was all about them but now a baby is coming and who ever the father is going to need to step up to the plate and take care of the baby. Oh Nick…smh.
He and Lily did need to have a conversation, but can she breathe. Damn, the girl was thrown down a flight of stairs, found out she was pregnant, and found her husband has a five year old less than 24hours ago.
He couldn't giver her at least another 48 to figure herself out? Get her mind together?
It's obvious Lily shouldn't have married Nick when she did. The two of them both brought baggage into their marriage.

Also glad that Lily saw her own complicity in her bad marriage. Sometimes it does take two.

Well, Billy is finally growing up. I know it's sad but I don't feel sorry for him at all. My heart goes out to Lily of course, but Billy and his need to be in control of everything did this and I am glad he has finally realized that.

I'm so glad that Billy is realizing what he's done and the games he's played and how his behavior and not just Nick's led to Lily being injured.
So glad the reasoning for his return was given. Yes I knew it was the picture but it was what he saw in the picture, the lack of joy in her. Now everything he's said to Jack he has to say to Lily PLUS explaining WHY he left and WHY he stayed away.
Compact and Powerful was this chapter. Lawd, I'm channelling Yoda.

Oh this was good....very intense. My sense of dread grew with every line until the final reveal that Lily is pregnant.
I hope it's Billy's, I really do. And if it's not, I hope that doesn't stop them from being together. Those Loveable Adulterers.
But Nick...freaky...borderline abusive. Lily is a better woman than me to forgive him for the fall or maybe she's still feeling guilt about Billy.
We'll see...can't wait for more.

I just…there's so much I could say, LOL. I guess I'll simply go with, Nick is disgusting. And no matter what he says, his actions prove that he does not love Lily.
Lily is simply the antithesis of Sharon, and since he loathes the fact that he desires a woman like Sharon, he's clinging to Lily. That's not love.
Even if Billy was nowhere in the picture, even if things never worked out between him and Lily, Lily needs to get herself far away from Nick.

I love your story. Billy makes me sick. He's got Lily. She has him too, but it seems that he can affect her more. I do want them together, but after reading how he left her years ago make me want to strangle him. I don't care if her marriage to Nick isn't going to work, the nerve he has just thinking that she will automatically turn to him. Yes, I know she is still in love with him and him with her, but he left her an now all these years later it seems he is still in control and manipulating as ever, with a determination to get back someone who he royaly messed up with. I just want him to suffer more than he has for what he did to Lily. He is too arrogant for his own good. Lily told him to leave and he left, but then again he didn't. Then he says she acted like a Bitch but he doesn't want her hurt.
Billy is such a selfish child. All he has done is hurt her and when she start dishing out all the pain that he caused her, he can't take it and says she's acting like a bitch! Oh, he should have been getting the bitch attitude non-stop and on top of that he should have got ignored to death. But since he did not, take it out on him some other kind of way. I just don't want Lily to be the poor broken little damsel he left seven years ago, again. Yes she still loves him, but he needs to come correct. It's all about him and what Billy wants, and what Billy needs, in that exact moment. Anyway, I could go on and on.
You are good, you have made Billy's character the way so many men are, not all of course, but some and Lily's character the same way. Can't wait for more!

This update was sad :( but very much enjoyable. The way Billy went about leaving Lily when they were teens, was wrong, but I don't fault him for actually going out to see the world. I think that was necessary.
