I really like how everything's coming to a head here. I can't tell you how happy I am that it seems like Brett and Cameron are finally going to talk about all she's going through. I hope he's understanding. He seems to love her so much,I'm thinking he will be.
Reed, I love. He and Waverly make a good team. The Gavin/Grace/Ethan triangle is still fascinating. I'm firmly on team Grace and hope she goes for the new career.

First! Thank goodness your back! I was missing these characters something terrible! I was so excited when I saw that you posted so... YAY HARLEN!
I've been told I'm a pretty good cheerleader so anytime you need an encouraging chant or call... I'm your girl! :)
The opening to this chapter was great. I love the interaction between Waverly and Reed. They'd be scorching together! (Eric Dane would be scorching with a PB and J sandwhich! I'm just saying!)
I really want Grace and Ethan to work out and though Gavin is wrong for pursuing his best friend's wife, I'm glad he's encouraging Grace to go off and be her own woman and finally do something for herself. I feel like he's willing to let her go.
The detective is hella creepy and quite intriguing. I like the way you wrote his scenes. *Winks-hints at you writing a murder mystery* I got goosebumps when he approached her. Just damn creepy!
Reed and Waverly handled his ass though. Love them together and I can not wait to see what happens between Brett and Cameron.

Hi IDJ, Waverly and Reed are fun to write. He would never jump when she says jump and Waverly is not impressed at all...
The detective is twisted. He loves but hates her. He hates Cameron for the life he has, but desires it at the same time. So he is not mentally stable, which has caused him to make a big mistake.

It'a about freaking time!!!! Grace and Gavin have so much potential to be a power couple, but if they got together now Ethan will be the one everyone feels sorry for.
Poor Cameron, I can already see his hurt when Brett's secret comes out, because it's going to come out.

Hi Sweet Pea....yes about time! G & G do have so much potential. It is the circumstances that they find themselves in that dictate whether they can and should be together. They could be good for each other.
Secrets do take on a life of their own. The fear attached to it has dictated Brett's life. Hopefully she will be free from that soon.

Excellent chapter! So much going on right now with these characters. I feel like the story is builiding to something fairly explosive and possibly damaging to almost everyone involved. I'm still not a fan of Grace and Gavin's affair, even if it is emotional. But feel more sad about that than anything, because what they could have is tainted by the fact that what they're doing is wrong.
I like Waverly so much.She and Reed make a really good team, and I like the way there story is converging with Brent and Cameron. Nice job there. I still want those kids to make it through all this together. :)

Hi TBG, You are so right. A lot of things are converging bringing some things to light with everyone having a stake in the outcome.
The circumstances for Gavin and Grace really are dictating whether they act on their feelings. Grace is fragile and Gavin is a mr. fix-it. It would be devastating to Ethan and Waverly. It would change all of their relationships.
Waverly and Reed are comical. Waverly is so take charge I can do it myself, while Reed is so laid back and smooth.

I'm so glad that Brett is finally going to tell Cameron about what happened to her, she was the victim, but she should have trusted Cameron more that she did, and I have a feeling thats whats going to hurt him.
Det. Johnson is a slimey jealous pervert, that needs to come up missing.... glad that Waverly and Reed got the jump on him.
I like Grace and Gavin, I like the fact that they can tell eachother anything.... but Waverly is wrong in thinking that her father is to blame if Grace/Ethan marriage ends... they are a powder keg waiting to explode.
Don't be too long with another update... and I hope that Peyton and Jared return.

Hi Lady Liberty, You are right sometimes keeping the secret becomes bigger than the secret itself. It is such a sensitive situations with Gavin and Grace, the feelings are there but the fall out from acting on them would leave a lot of hurt in their wake.

So happy you updated Harlen. I'm really liking Reed more and more. Really liked his scene with Waverly. Doesn't hurt that you used that sexy ass Eric Dane either. :-) And Waverly's obviously worried about her Dad. I have to sympathize with her a bit on that score. But I think it comes from a place of love most definitely. Payton and Jared were sweet as always.

I have a feeling that Reed and Waverly are going to butt heads big time... and speaking of Waverly, she kinda needs a love life, b/c why wouldn't she want her dad to find happiness, I mean her mom has been gone for yrs, I know its his best friends wife, but at least Grace isn't her age... maybe when she finally finds love, she'll understand.
I hope Payton working with Jared doesn't cause them troubles.

I'm so glad you updated Harlen! I like Reed, he seems smart and capable, with that hint of bad boy about him that's damn sexy. I liked his convo with Waverly, thought they played off each other nicely, though I am wondering who's giving her those workouts in the bedroom. Nice little cliffhanger there. :) I also liked seen Peyton working her public relations skills, and I like that Jared appreciates how good she is at her job.

Great update Harlen. I'm intrigued by Reese and Morgan and their history. He seems like a smart guy. I'm sure he'll get the bottom of the creepy blackmailer situation.
As always, Grace, Ethan and Gavin both frustrate me and fascinate me. I'm glad Gavin had a moment of clarity about his action. He seemed to get the fact that what he did was all about him and not Grace. Ethan obviously wants to fix his life but doesn't seem equipped to do it. I enjoyed getting a peek into his background. It made me want to know more about his father and his upbringing. When he lashed out at Grace all I could do was shake my head. He's so flawed and complex, I'm starting to think he needs to find himself just as badly as Grace.
As for Grace...I'm starting to think she's avoiding her problems at this point. She knows she's not happy, she knows that Gavin has feelings for her...she watches Gavin and Ethan interact (BFF's and all) but decides that she needs time and once again puts Ethan off. He's coming to her saying he wants to save their marriage and she's yet to give him an answer. I get the impression she's not to keen on the idea. But the longer she debates the issue the less I think it's fair to Ethan. Yes he's a cheating asshole. That's on him. But him dangling from the hook, waiting for her to decide what she's going to do with her life isn't fair either.
This was a great chapter Harlen. You've really created some great, compex characters in Gavin, Grace and Ethan and I'm thinking Reed. Really enjoyed it.

Hi BlackMamba, I totally understand your position with Grace. She is definitely stronger and growing in her new found strength, but not totally there yet. She has been with this man her whole adult life and taking that plunge of actually leaving him and being on her own is what keeps her in limbo. She knows what she needs to do, it is just getting to the point of being able to do it. You want to tell her 'Grace you can do it...' but she has never heard that. She will have to tell it to herself.
I have been meaning to get to Ethan's father and how that has shaped who he is. Ethan fights with being like him and in turn actually behaves like him. He wants to save his marriage and trying to work with his limited emotional availability.

Great update Harlen! I wonder what Morgan will find out... hopefully nothing. I really hope Reed can help Wave and Brett fix everything! AWWW the suspense. Grace is so strong and surprisingly aware, especially after going through what she's been through. She knows what she wants and it looks like she's not going to settle for second best anymore. And she's handling it all with grace. Awesome update! :)

Hi IDJ, Both Reed and Morgan are on the case. It is a race as to clearing up the blackmail issue and Morgan sniffing out a story.
Grace is growing stronger through this ordeal. She and Ethan have been together since their teen years, so Grace is doing now what other women have done in their 20's. She is finding her own voice and what she expects out of life. She is going through a life change and will be better for it.

Great update Harlen! Glad Ethan and Grace had that coversation, it got ugly at times, but it felt honest. And I like that Grace is taking a hard look at her life and choices and where she wants to go from here. I also liked the mature way she delt with Gavin, it was really nice, refreshing. I seems like everyone is getting a bit more clarity about the situation.
Wondering how Reed and Morgan will play into the overall plot of the story. I'm anxious to find out. :)

Hi TBG, It is a struggle for both Grace and Ethan. She is growing stronger and independent and that scares him. It was easier dealing with her when she was just going along with the routine. Ethan can't deal with her the way he use to. Her changes have forced him to get in touch with his feelings and be vulnerable to her again.
Reed keeps secrets and Morgan uncovers them...so we shall see...oh did I mention their both sexy?

Don't you want to sit Grace down woman to woman and tell her she doesn't need him! We all know someone who we have wanted to say that to. It is getting them to a point where they believed that about themselves, and that is where Grace is. She is beginning to realize she is stronger than she has given herself credit for.
Reed and Morgan are on opposing sides one trying to keep and the other trying to uncover secrets...we will see who comes out on top...(no pun intended) :-)

AWWWW! This was so sweet and sexy. The jacuzzi got some action! LOL! I just love Jared and Payton. They're too freakin' cute! I'm glad she finally admitted to herself and him that she's in love! That was so sweet... I knew Payton was in love with Jared, she had to let go of her fears and just tell him, and I'm glad that she did.. That jacuzzi scene was HOT.
