Payton is stronger than most, but Jared is chipping away at her resolve, it will be cool to see if she can hold out long enough for Brett to get her new shoes. I like this chapter, it's nice to see women bonding without being catty. The spa seen with Grace and the girls was revetting. I felt compasion for Grace you could feel her inward struggle, she is loney, she doesn't have any friends, her best friend and confidant is dead and her louse of a husband might as well be dead but Now that Waverly as her revelation about her dad I think we are going to see some fireworks. Good chapter.
Author's Response: Hi Avis, Yes, Jared is starting to get to Payton. She wants to be sure. She wants the reward and is scared to take the risk. I love the relationship with Brett and Waverly and it was easy to bring Payton into that. They each have their role that really compliments the other. I love women looking out for each other. Grace is in such a difficult place. You summed it up perfectly. It is not easy being in love with someone that you can't have. There are so many repurcussions to that relationship that will impact Waverly...and Ethan; on top of a friendship that has been established for years. Really loved this chapter. Gavin's gone over Grace and it's awesome. But I love her with Ethan so I'm a little torn. And we have a mysterious blackmailer. Waverly obviously got a major whopper if this guy's planning vacations. Great chapter Harlen.

Great update. The stuff with Payton and Jared was sweet, though I do question how fast he's fallen for her. He was such a playboy before, I'm worried that he may break her heart a bit.
Loved the Gavin stuff, that's a really great character. And I liked the Brett and Cameron scene as well, I'd love to know more about their marriage, seems like it would be pretty complicated.
You're doing a great job with this story Harlen, keep it up. :)
