Atters it is not a problem for you to listen in or read in or as we say here to maco what Jan and I are saying. I just wish that there was some place that we could chat all night about TB and our fave couple Sam and Tara. I agree with the hate for Eric and Pam after what they did to poor old Laffy and the fact that they continue to torture him long after he is released. Jessica and Hoyt are indeed beautiful together and I hope that they endure. And from a point of prue entertainment value I hope that maxine stick around a little! talk about a psycho bitch on crack!!!!!! She is highly entertaining.

Title: Chapter 16 - Truth Be Told

LOVED IT, Jan...I mean really adored these two in your fic...and so glad there will be a volume two...thought that was it...and started to panic, LOL...all and that worry and she knew already...and she still loves him the same...sigh...why can't Ball and Co. get it right on the show...

I was reading in again on you and Tobagogirl...sorry to intrude...but I can't stand Sookie and Eric...Eric...I'm with you Tobagogirl...I don't get the fascination with this character and how "fine" he's supposed to be...where...tall and stiff don't cut it for me...and I was too through with him after he, Pam, and Chow chained Laffy up in that basement like a dog or more like a runaway slave and then proceeded to feed off of him...that was truly sickening...I hates the bastard now...as far as I'm concerned...Russell could have cut out his, Bill's, and Sookie's hearts and fed them to his wolf-dogs...none of them do it for me...so I live for the characters of Sam and Tara, and to a lesser extent...Jessica and Hoyt (they're too sweet...love them)...and for all the ones who say Tara's a whiny biotch...are u kidding me...if anyone like Sookie over Tara...something is wrong...damsel in distress extrordinaire...and usually of her own dumb making...

But again, Jan...thanks for the first volume...I really hope we see more of Aunt Vie in volume 2...

Author's Response:

Oh, there will be more of loveable adorable Aunt Vie in Volume 2. Thanks.

Title: Chapter 1 - With a Little Work

You damn right that sam belongs to TT!!!!!! Girla nd yes....the man has skills...wicked mad skills. Yah I would love to see them make love in the real sense (the closest they came to that was after gran's funeral in season 1)....but I enjoy their interaction and talks and hawt fucking. I wished that he could come to her rescue in some way....like when she was kidnapped by catshit crazy franklyn. ~sigh~....I guess I am just a romantic fool. Girl I am with you on the proliferation of Sookie/Eric fanfics....I just dont get it! I just dont!!! What is it about Eric that people are so enarmoured of. I cant stand to see him on the show with his sidekick Pam. They are like the bully and sidekick in high school who are really losers but get their kicks out of acting cool and humiliating others. What the fuck ever! As long as Tara and Merlotte remain on the show I will continue to bear the horrible writing.........I just ask that sam be as nasty and as sleazy and as sexy as can be.......YUM!

Title: Chapter 1 - With a Little Work

Jan I just want to know if you intend to make any rewrites before I print and bind. Okay. The chemistry between Tara and Sam is undeniable. And do you know why I like them? Sam can be himself with Tara.....he can be as gentle and as kind and as considerate as he can be and as nasty and sexy as he wants to be and as angry as he likes. Contrast that with how he literally behaves like a loopy dog behind Sookie as though she is made of glass...yet between the two of them I think Tara ia more fragile and in need of the greater love than Sookie. That conversation that they had in season 3 at the bar was one of their best as it showed how similar they are and the scene after was like wooooooooo....trammell really surprises me.....the man can......(insert drink of coconut water)........they can be as angry passionate nasty loving as they can be and they can communicate. Sookie and Bills love is totally gothic and contrived and the love scenes are out of some historical romance.....now I love those 2 but the love scenes are like.....whatever....as for the ugly viking with the awful accent.....DO NOT GET ME STARTED! At this point in the series Sookie can have him....I really do not care! I am just happy that I have your fanfic to read! Please.....bring on Vol 2!!!!!

PS- reported??? to whom? and for what?

Author's Response:

I don't plan on making any more changes to Vol. I. So go right ahead and print and bind.

I loved the TAM bar scene in season 3 and the wicked piece of screwing that came after that. It was a scene worthy of a tall drink of coconut water. As much as I enjoy them boinking their brains out, I wish there were scenes of them actually making love and using the "L" word.

Scatch that about the reporting part. I was just kidding about being getting in trouble for defaming the likes of Sookie and Eric as there are die hards out there who will defend them tooth and nail. The amount of fanfics on Sookie/Eric pairing is astronomical. That is why I'm so glad for valentchamber site. It has become a place where I can find some solace.

Indeed that Sam Merlotte character is one passionate YUM. Whenever he hooks up with anyone other than Tara on the show, I'm like, dude why are you wasting your 'talent' on those loosers who can't even hold a candle to Tara...FOOL, you belong to TT. Anyway, it's not his fault, is those dum dum writers.

Title: Chapter 1 - With a Little Work

Girl I am so excited! Let me tell you I am printing this and binding it as my escape from Ball's crap as the seasons progress. Your fanfic is way better. When I get fed up of Ball I can reread this as many times as I like! Girl as for the recollection on the library premises....Girl...it was HAWT and the BEST one in the entire story!!!!!! I had to drink 2 glasses of coconut water on my slow read....in fact I think I started to spell the words just so that that scene would not end qucikly! Let me tell you! And you know the reason why it works...Sam is a very sly devil who seems quite capable of making any woman scream like that.... just give him a wall and an opportunity! If his office could talk the tales it would tell! Its kinda dirty sneaky and nasty but we love it nonetheless. And child, I could see that man going where he went with Tara in your stories! YUM! Just wish ball could bring these things to life!!!!! Hey Alan we need to get our fix up in here! Can hardly WAIT for Vol 2! Bring it come!

Author's Response:

T'dad, you making me blush. Thanks for saying that. Means a lot.  Drinking your coconut water to quench that thirst ehh....LoL! Not just one glass but TWO. LoL! Man, I wouldn't mind drinking some myself. It's mi favorite natural drink in the whole world!

As for the library recollection bit, girl, I don't know where it came from but the more I think about those two characters the more it made sense to have them like that, and MORE (heh!). The TAM chemistry on the show was undeniable and I thought it was far better than the Sookie/Bill pairing. And the funny thing is that in season one, the relationship between Tara/Sam and Sookie/Bill was deliberately depicted as contrasts between the two. Like that time when Sam dissed Tara for 'grunting' while they had sex and then almost in the same episode Bill is shown telling Sookie that he would never change anything between them (sex-wise). I was like, arrgh! LoL! Anyway, I digress.

Ah mi dear, if only Alan would listen to us TAMshippers. But, seems he much rather pacify the crowd screaming for  Sookie/Eric shower scene and Eric in pink spandex scene. I mean, what is the facination in those two anyway? Anyway, better I stop before I go off on the deep-end or get reported or something.

I must say that I am flattered that you'd go to the extent of printing and binding my story. Presently I am working on the first chapter of vol. 2 and it is looking pretty good so far.

~stay tuned

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! Girl this ending was awesome!!! I love the way how it played out and the twist at the end was just fantastic!!!! Girl you had me going there. I think its the slowest that I have ever read anything in my life. I am so happy that he wasnt alone and I am also happy that Tara didnt hit the roof. I am looking forward to more adventures from my two fave characters! Question....can we see Sam kicking some ass to save Tara in Vol 2......just a suggestion.....YUM!

Author's Response:

T'dad! Thanks for reading and commenting. Of all the chapters in this story Never Too Late - vol. I, the finale chapter was the MOST difficult for me to write. I re-wrote it three times before I was satisfied. I am happy you liked it. I couldn't wait to read your response. BTW how did you like Tara's mind drift in the library? Was it too racy? Anyway, it is onto a fresh start for these two and I have a few things I have in store for them. I like your sugestion I think it is fantastic and it will fit in quite well adding more drama and angst...thanks!

Atters lets hope that we are both right....ie that Tara and Sam are on a convulted journey to bliss...LOLOL! Terry is such a great guy and I LOVE how they have developed his character but to inflict Arlene on him....OH GOD! You know what right about now I am so scared to see season 4 as I try not to imagine the stew of crap that Ball and the writers have up their sleeve! To begin with if I see Tommy alive in season 4 I am sorry I think that I may have to give TB a rest! I hope that Sam shot his ASS!

Title: Chapter 15 - Could Haves

Me either, Tobagogirl...Arlene's just one of those characters I tried to like...I just can't...and what she did most of this season to poor Terry was truly despicable...then she tried to abort that baby and acting all self-righteous and ish about abortions...I can't stand people like her...I've met quite a few Arlenes in my life growing up/living in the South (US)...bible-thumping bigots who can't or should I say...won't see the errors of their ways...

I look at it like this...I know the Operation "Let's torture Tara" is in overload...but at least a sista is getting steady work...and like I said earlier...I like to think of it as a journey that Tara and Sam are on to finally realize that they are meant for each other...we just have to be prepared to go through a couple of obstacles to get to the prize...

I got you I got you Atters. I fully agree with your analysis of the interaction between Franklyn and Tara. AND I happen to adore Frain as an actor and I have been following his career for years. The fact that he is married to a sister makes him a hot commodity in my book...hey hey hey! But Oh gosh....I wish that tara could have caught a break and I wish he had targeted someone like....oh say....Arlene....jeesh.....speaking of which I am so not looking forward to her whole demon baby crap in season 4...~sigh~

Title: Chapter 15 - Could Haves

Tobagogirl...to answer your question about the reason for the love of the Franklin character...I think I can sum it up in two words...the actor...JAMES FRAIN...the man is a genius...he embodies the character that he portrays...sure, we know that something wasn't quite right with the Franklin character...he was a vicious killer...he killed a group of little old ladies at a casino because they wouldn't let him have a turn at the slots...but in his twisted mind...his killing them was justified...and he was so very lonely...immortality has a price...there's something so real about knowing that even though you know you will live forever...well, what happens to one's emotional needs during that time...sure, they are monsters (hell, they eat people for food)...and they are supposed to be soulless...but are they really...I do believe that Franklin was a needy soul before he was turned...and eternity and all has only amplified that neediness...that's why he became so fixated on Tara...there was something about her darkness that called to his needy soul...and as twisted as it sounds...he really did think he was saving her...he thought he'd found his 'soulmate'...unfortunately for him...Tara didn't share this thinking...yes, he mistreated her...hurt her in the worst possibly way a man can hurt a woman (he physically and psychologically raped her)...but again...in his pathos...he thought he was 'loving' her...does that excuse his treatment of her...hell no...but it does explain to an extent why he did the things he did...because in his darkness...he really did 'love' her the only way he was capable of 'loving' anything....

But Frain revelled in Franklin's psychosis...Franklin could have easily been a one-dimensional character...pure evil...but he was more than that because the actor made him so...he made him endearing (how is it possible to actually feel sorry for a monstrous being who would hurt the object of his obsession the way Franklin hurt Tara)...but I did...he was so pitiful in his loneliness...I rooted for him...and he was funny as all get out for us the audience...not so much the character of Tara...and Rutina and James played so well off of each other...that despite the dire seriousness of the situation (her being held Franklin hostage and a victim of his abuse)...you almost...almost forgot about that and was plain entertained with their interaction...and Franklin did give Tara back her fighting spirit...he showed her that she yes, she did indeed want to live...she wanted life...no matter how f-up it was...it was hers...and she fought with everything in her to keep it...the only misstep was that the writers didn't allow her to take him out her own darn self...that would have been truly a moment of empowerment...but I love her speech to him when he returned and how she refused to cower down to him...she was willing to face death...but on her terms...one of my favorite True Blood scenes ever was the Franklin and Tara confrontation scene this past season...bravo to both James Frain and Rutina Wesley...it was chilling, honest, and empowering all at the same time!!!!

Title: Chapter 1 - With a Little Work

Ahhhhhhh...Atters answered my question and i concur fully! Jan as far as I am concerned its your story you take it away. I am loving it the way you are crafting it. You go ahead! Atters and Jan what is this love for Franklyn....look I didnt mind Franklyn as a character in the line up buuuuut just didnt want him with Tara! Hello!.....the bitch was ill....mentally ill....I am just damn vex that Sam wasnt the one to dispatch him with alacrity to vampire Hades! I agree that sam needs some sort of backing in his corner but the way his character has been presented on the show I doubt an Aunt Vie resides anywhere on his radar and to introduce one now on the show would be terribly odd. (Jan it works in your story because you have gone into the trouble to develop Sam's character in a certain way and it is so enjoyable the way you have done it). Sam would have to make that kind of binding connection with someone in the here and now ....not dumbass sookie as she is too busy running around being impetuous and dotish.....I think that Tara is the ideal person....but then I am totally biased on that issue and unashamed to say so! Tara is tough she can handle that and as a team she and Sam can mash up the place!

Title: Chapter 15 - Could Haves

I'm enjoying the happy times with Sam and Tara, FatJan...I know they must come to the end...but I'm loving it for now...don't want to wake up from the dream just quite yet...and I love the Aunt Vie character in your story...wish Ball would get a clue and give each of these characters as least one stable person in their corner so they can just release...and in a way, Lafayette is sorta that for Tara...though he has his own problems...but Sam doesn't have anyone on the show...and so he internalizes a lot of the ish that happens to him...no wonder he snapped...I'm just surprised it didn't happen a lot sooner than it did...

And if I may answer your question to Tobagogirl...no, I don't think it odd that you're not including the other supernatural elements of the show in this tale...one, because it isn't really necessary because you're focusing on the characters of Tara and Sam...the reveal that he is a shape-shifter is enough angst for this story...two, I really don't like any of the vamps except maybe Franklin (okay, I freakin' loved that  freaky little bastard hahaha) and Jessica...she's so sweet and there is something still somehow 'innocent' about her...she hasn't been jaded like the rest of the vamps...so she's still rootable...besides...like I said...I live for the 'secondary' characters on this show...they are so much more interesting and complex than the 'lead' characters...without the supporting cast I wouldn't bother watching the show...

Looking forward to the next update...

Author's Response: Thanks attheritz! Indeed Sam is an interesting character all by himself and a hot one at that. In season 3 he seeked out his family because he is lonely and came up with a serpents egg. The Mickens used him and his brother dissed him. No wonder he lost it in the end. I was happy that Tara was there for him even though she was going through a bag load of issues herself. Alas his revelation served as a turning point...one that I hope will be a good one.  Thanks for answering my questions and I agree that it is best that I concentrate on Tara and Sam. I have the hots for Franklin. He's such a sexy beast. ~melt~
