So finally I have got some time to review your story, I pulled an all-night reading, unable to stop myself even though I had to wake up early and go to work. I loved this story, its so entertaining, I love the dialogue and I love Val and Matheson, and oh my gosh Emily is a little cookoo, but her cookooness makes her a very interesting character. Who falls in love with a 13 year old boy? How hot was this boy. I am so glad you didn't make that relationship all roses and what-not, that there were other problems, outside problems sure but problems. And i like that Val and Matheson had obstacles but still loved each other through it all.
That being said, I have to say that my favorite character is hannah. I don't know why, but she resonnated with me. And when Emilio came into the picture...I was like wow you go girl, I would have loved to learn more about there relationship but I understand that would be like a whole other book. So I will take and treasure what I can get.
This disturbing scene and somewhat the most fascinating is the one between matheson and his grandfather, with the knife. Oh the drama, it was unstoppable and it was intriguing. And the story in between the Millie's mother and millie's father was so amarzing. I stated hated him, and then gradually you made me love him and feel so sorry for him, for them, for their situation. Imagine how many people could have been in love and because of the social structure, and the racism could not be together. How many people had to hide their love in the shadows? its a haunting thought, so kudos for letting me and everyone see that love between two people, in two ends of the social structure, with things such as race and laws keeping them apart, could have existed.
I love stereotypically yours, but I love that story between Millie's parents most of all, because its something that trickled down generations and no matter how sad and tragic it is, it touched me. You are very talented, and I should know...I read a lot, I read the way some people breath. I think you could be a proffessional if you wished, but if you just wish to share you imagination with the world regardless of money, then thank you so much for that.

You are so kind. I read your review and to be honest, had to to stop and think because it's been a while since I wrote this story. Thanks for responding to my review of YOUR story. Your story really grabbed me which is why I wrote the long review. Secretly in the back of my mind though, I kinda wonder if your characters will somehow work things out even though it started out bad. I cant see how, but with your compelling writing, I won't be surprised if you throw me for a loop. LOL Thanks for the review!

I know i have said this before but please write a story where you give tameka a happy ending every time i read this story and yes i have read it more than once i just want to cry for her and sometimes i do i would be so much more settled if she also got a happy ending i am begging you

I really, really, really enjoyed reading this. Gramps was really off the chain. But, I'm glad everyone came to acceptance of their union. You've done a really good job in expressing real life situations. Loved the background--everything about this story. Thanks for writing such a great story.

I greatly enjoyed this story but am very unhappy this last chapter included anal sex, that was a Huge turnoff for me and denigrated their relationship! Anal sex is painful and a health hazard! It's makes me question Mathesons's love for Valysia that, he would also desire to put this pain upon her! And to commemorate their marriage by this act on their wedding night?! My love and admiration for Matheson was greatly reduced!
Anyway Brenda1257 thanks for the story; sharing your brilliance of creativity and Magnificent writing skills. Throughout this story, except for my disappointment in last chapter, I had: many laughs, thrills of great erotic sex, drama and other excitement, also, events that profoundly commented on life.

Sorry that the last chapter lowered your opinion of Matheson. Now you know he would NEVER do anything to intentionally hurt the woman he was ready to cut his grandfather over. I am sure that if she found it to be something that she really didn't like, he would never approach her with it again. His top priority to loving her andmaking her happy. So, just because they tried something, don't hate our boy. Now if he insisted again when she didn't want it, that would be another story. Thanks for the review.

Loved this story, what an evil old man Mathesons' grandfather was, and as for Val's crazy grandmother, she is the type of person who gives black people a bad name. Fancy hating your grandchildren for something so stupid. At least their was more good than bad in both their lives, which enabled them to overcome all the crap that was thrown at them.

I don't see nothin' wrong with a lil' bump and grind! No truer words have ever been sung! The Matheson-Hendricks family are a bunch of freaks! But there is nothing wrong with that! Yeah for Hannah and Emilio, Yeah for Emily and Gregory, Yeah for Felicia and Bill, Yeah for Grandma Mavis finding her brother Langston and Double Yeah for Valysia and Matheson for finding true love n the face of all the racial and hatefulness in the U.S. and finally Thank You for helping Val forgive Meka! I loved this story! I started reading this on fictionpress and followed it over here. It was actually your story that introduced me to this website. I love the characters and I would hope that there's a sequel in the future. I don't think this is the ending for Val and Matheson

I'm glad Mavis and Langston have each other in their golden years. It kind of fits, and now Mavis wont be alone since Val is just married.

I'm going to give it a break for now. I've never taken over a year writing a story and I may come back to it later. Right now my muse is cooking something new up and I'm working on that as well as "Good Things"
