Title: Epilogue

Love this tale. I have to go back and post reviews at the other chapters i read, but didn't stop to review. great work Spark ApCider!

Author's Response:

Your eyes have been busy as of late...girl how do you find the time between that bakers dozen you roll with? I thank you for spending some time with my stories. Most so far are tied in a series.  I want to get a lot of this out because it's an old story, dating back to 1999-2000 which I wrote on school hiatus one summer.

So, I'm not spoiling anything...everyone knows for the most part that Nic/Brian are going to marry and have a good life together, raising their children.  The intent is the journey...

So we get to see all of the bruises and bandages, rips, tears, and scrapes they overcome to get there, family and friends in tow.

Title: Epilogue

Hey spark! Just finished this tonight. Had read it a while ago but lost my reviews and thought I'd read and refresh my memory.

At the beginning as I read about Brian, I really liked him. He was so sweet and kind, perfect really...as you guessed opinion changed as I read about him.

He's kinda weak. No scrap that, he is weak. His mom is a bitch. I feel sorry for his father. I bet his wife has his dick in a mason jar up on a shelf. No wonder she's so fond of Liz. Bitches with tethers will flock together. (lol that was a lame take on the birds of a feather but meh, I tried.)

I guess if I could sum up this story it would be pull of family VS the pull of your own heart. I wasn't pissed off with Brian because I wanted him to choose Nicole over his family, I was pissed because of his indecisiveness. He needed to either stand up for her and make it clear to Liz to back the fuck off and to tell his mother to respect her. If he couldn't do that, if those two were a priority over Nic, well he should have let Nic go. I mean it's bad she lost Robbie, she's still in pain over that and the last thing she needed was this crap from those cows.

Mind you though, I didn't think Nicole was a saint. It was wrong of her to try to keep the baby a secret from Brian...but I don't know. Is she in love with Brian? The way she kept bringing up Robbie and then she mentioned that it was the baby her and Robbie should have had...I don't know, I think the place she has for Robbie in her heart can't be taken by anyone, even Brian. *shrugs* I'm most likely wrong but it's just my interpretation.

I am glad Brian saw sense in the end and he is with her and they are going to be a family together. I can still sense some things aren't finished or resolved, like his mother for instant. What's going to happen when she has the babies? Brian's mum will have to respect and accept the fact she is permanently in his life, if she wants to have a relationship with her grandkids.

Anyhow, I really enjoyed this story and I cannot wait to read more from you! Will start the next story now!

Author's Response:

My goodness you ate a bunch of words...LOL.  Thanks for reading. Brian is first to see the good, last to see the fall.  That's him. He has inherited his father's genes in that regard. He trusts, and he tries to make it all work.  He is so much better a man than Nicole presented to us.  But I wanted to show how her circumstances shaped her point of view, but also how they both wanted to move on from their past life and love, but time didn't allow them enough room to build on their infatuation with each other.  And then when challenges came upon them, they retracted to what they found most comfortable...thus protecting their hearts.

At the movies, I wanted to impart Brian's awakening, at the sight of her...so much that he had forgotten to introduce her to his sister, which Nicole too as his 'date'.  And of course her emotions are running so high these days...most days.

It often happens when a new house is built before the old land has been fully excavated. I hope I showed that...because it was the message of my intent.

Growth will come in life and love.  They will grow on you, little by little.  :-)

I enjoyed the dynamics of this story. Nicole went through alot of emotions, and Brian, like his father, was pretty much stable, even though his life was unsteady for a while.  Brian turned out to be a "good egg".  I am glad that the ending turned out satisfactory for both of them.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading. Stay tuned for the sequel.
