OMG these two...so beautiful together yet there's so much still unresolved between them.
I loved this fic Token--you captured that poignant bittersweetness between them perfectly--I hope you write more about these two sometime in the future!

Oh, wow. This was so beautiful!! I have to confess, I don’t know about this TV show or the characters, so I can’t comment on accuracy or portrayal but this is just a beautiful short story and captures all the complexities of love. It’s one of my fave themes of love, one that I always wish to write about but always fail to express well enough.
What I’m talking about is exploring the painful undercurrent part of it. I love how you wrote about it, about the necessity of it. That to really go on loving someone it requires you to endure that hurt and pain over and over again. That while hate can negate you, love creates you and when we lose it, we don’t know who we are.
This was a gorgeous story about the frailty of human nature and it’s relationships, and better than many published short stories I have read. You need to consider writing a book of your stuff, it is something I would definitely buy, well done!

Token, this story was so awesome. There was so much regret and words unspoken between these two. Carter/Kem are soulmates. So happy you found a common ground for them.. Great work.

I love the wonderfully evocative mood of this. The descriptions of Kem and Carter's life apart felt so empty and full of longing and loss. They were both going through the motions and barely feeling anything. I've never watched a full episode of ER, so I'm guessing by the descriptions of the characters they were both intensely passionate people. To see them reduced to automatons is heartbreaking.
What I liked most are the things that were unsaid between them. The, particularly Kem, don't say the important things at first because they know it'll bring them closer and to that point where they have to reveal all those feelings building under the emptiness and loss. I'm not surprised Carter is the ones that speaks the most and makes the first move. As a woman the loss of Joshua is particularly hard for Kem and it seems she closed herself off from Carter to deal with those feelings. Opening up to him has more consquencesin her eyes or am iI reading too much into this?
It’s not the kiss of her husband, but that of her lover.
I like this sentence so much. The juxtaposition is beautiful.

Carter and Kem were pretty passionate, especially together. One thing I noticed was that she was alwasy touching him, which I'm sure was an acting choice for Thandie, but it stayed with me with regards to them I think. And after the death of their child they had so much trouble communicating simple things, which I also wanted to address in this story. Kem too Joshua's death hard, and John's been trying to get her back ever since on the show.

Beautiful work. I love this pairing and you captured that subtle tragic tone to their connection very well. I like that this was about healing, which is what they really needed all that time. The back and forth between their lives and the coming together in the end was very well done and satisfying.
Love how you captured their voices, particulary John Carter. Love the character, he's such an everyday guy and you showed that excellently in this fic. And the shout outs to Benton and Green, two of my favorites just made my day :D

Im no longer a fanfic 'virgin', YAY!! My 1st fanfic EVER!
I haven't seen the episodes with Kem and John but i take it that's not how it ended for them on the show? Well, i prefer your version. Ive always liked those two together.
This was nicely done, there is a softness and tenderness with the way you potrayed them that warms my heart!

FANTASTIC! I loved every bit of this. I like the different perspectives and yet how similiar their lives are without each other. I like that he asked her to stay. He wasn't proud, he just wanted what he use to have. This was amazing. Is it too much if I ask if you plan on writing them again? :)

I wish their story had turned out this way...I felt the anguish and desperation from both of them..but I also felt the need and lonliness as well....they love each other but pain and feear of pain was keeping them apart...it tore at my heart but I felt relieved and happy when she ageed to stay!!
