LOL. Jake just pulled a punk move. I'm glad Li punched him in the gut, knocking the air out of him.
His bitch girlfriend smells like closet WASP racist, insecure, ill-mannered heifer. You don't ask anyone, especially not a total stranger, such personal questions!!
I'm loving Li's new confidence and independence and the fact that she has remained close to Henry and Miss Irene.
To Jake's credit, he is appreciative and did respond and come see Miss Irene. However, something tells me he isn't living his true, authentic life... yet.
Wait 'til he meets Faith!!!
I'm enjoying this story. It's a wonderful continuation to Jake and Liandre's tale.

Wow, it seems both Jake and Li have gone through so much since Faith's conception and birth...and all so very realistic and not beyond the realm of possibility...I think that's what I like most about this story...the characters have that 'real' people with 'real'-life issues feel to them...they've had their more than fair share of hard knocks...yet they endure on...
So Jake still hasn't broached the subject of Faith and Liandra with Renee yet...he's making early, early morning calls to Li...I realize that this is a difficult, tense situation for them all...but why is Jake keeping secrets from his supposed 'love'...she's clueless and Jake still hasn't felt the need to share...
I think Jake's right...there are no easy or quick fixes and this situation will not be resolved easily...someone will be hurt...Jake wants to be a father to Faith and he still has residual feelings for Li...of that I have no doubt...I think a lot of his feelings for Renee may be wrapped around 'gratitude' for her father...but not as much as I first thought...I do believe he has feelings for her...but like I mentioned before...there is something about the level of trust in their relationship and Jake IMHO isn't all the way in the relationship with her...I can't wait to read more...I understand about life getting in the way...it happens to us all...thanks for sharing...

thanks for saying that they're realistic. i tried so hard to not create the same, fairytale characters. i wanted to make them real and something people might be able to relate to. he does have feelings for renee, but your opinion is right because he isn't all the way into the relationship, giving his best. thanks for reading.

Loved the update. Jake needs to be upfront with Renee whether he wants to be with her or move on to Li. Glad to see him wanting to step up to the plate for Faith. It seems he and Li still have some chemistry and unresolved feelings for each other.

well isn't Jake in btwn a rock and a hard place. He ows quite a bit to Mr. Kingston, but he owes more to Faith. If his bratty fiance' can't deal with the idea of him being a dad than she needs to dip. plus she don't belong with him anyway, that's clearly Liandra's role she's playing currently.

Jake didn’t hesitate contacting Li...I like that. Loved the way he looked at her, Faith. Like she’s the most precious thing on earth; its almost as if she’s too good to be true. Oh man, the moment she wraps her little arms around his neck....wow...he’s a goner for sure.
Loved, loved, loved Jake and Li in the kitchen: their talk, their embrace. The moment was wonderful, straightforward - no bullshit, not overly emotional but geniune. Also loved his resolve to be a father to his child.
I’m curious to know how he’s living...is he doing well for himself, did he come into money? And why is that leech clinging to him. Or is she? Doesn’t matter, she’d served her purpose. Her fifteen minutes are up!

WOW first of all I am so hooked on this story. And I am very happy and proud of Jake for stepping up and calling Li. I thought he may have taken some time, but he is still so drawn to her and now his daughter. What in the world is going to happen next? I just hope that he gets to spend some real quality time with Faith. She deserves to know her father and he deserves the same chance with getting to know her.

Wow...that meeting was...subdued...I don't know what I expected...maybe shouting and recriminations...but I like how you wrote it so much better...Jake's nervousness and inner thoughts was a wonderful touch...
I know that Jake has to deal with his relationship or whatever he has going on with Renee...but surely he can see it is not at all...healthy...or fulfilling (sp?)...and what will he do now that Li has told him the truth about her own feelings...in ASTF...we got to see Jake and Li as immature people whom life had dealt some hard knocks...but life's experiences has matured them...hopefully for the better...and hopefully the decisions they make now will be wiser...I can definitely see Jake wanting to be the father to Faith that he himself never had...but him and Li...now that one's complicated...he still IMHO harbors feelings of pain and resentment from her rejection...can't wait to see how it all plays out...great update...this is truly a wonderful story...

What a wonderful and sweet update. It seems like both of them have done some growing up. I feel that they both are still so in love with each other.
