So sad. That was heart breaking. Good story. Kat's reaction to the incident is pretty much how I would have reacted and probably how other parents would have acted. I'm a bit pissed myself; some people can be heartless and to go into a school where young children are is just sick; Monsters, indeed. Great title!
Author's Response: Thank you. I wasn't sure whether or not to write this fic, as it wasn't the way I wanted to go, but, my muse headed in this direction.

Cold Case has been one of my favorite shows since it started. Sometimes I can't help crying, some of the stories are so sad, the deaths so pointless.
Thanks for writing something featuring these two ladies. I can't wait to read more.
Author's Response:
Thank you. And ditto, Cold Case, certainly is unique in the sense that it will make you cry.
One of the things which I find so frustrating about the show is the lack of screen time Kat and Lilly get.

Poor Kat. I felt the guilt mixed with the anger.
Author's Response: That was one of my intentions; to strike at the emotions of the reader.

Gripping. Emotional. Edgy. Heart-breaking. All words describing a great start. The most descriptive word being the story’s title: Monsters. That’s the only way to accurately portray people who’s capable of such unimaginable acts.
Btw, I hope he lives too...
