She liked spending time outside of her body, suspended in the air connected to nothing. She’d live the same moment over in quick succession, without the pressure of ever moving forward. Her will was impenetrable here. She was a solid beam of light growing rapidly and consuming all the corners of darkness in her tiny square room. Bright, bright, bright until her eyes would melt, glitter clogging her nose and mouth, leaving only touch and sound. Tiny beads moved over her skin, up her arms and into her ears creating a hum of pleasure unmatched by anything reality would fake.
