"I love you," he said, his tone cold and efficient.
She didn't even bother to turn around as she replied, "Oh, really."
"Yes, I believe so," he stated, his face set, his eyes resting on top of her head.
She looked at him, her face inscrutable for several moments. He looked at a point ahead, his mind filled with all kinds of illogical yearnings and desires.
She pursed her lips, seemingly perturbed by what she found. Then she replied, "Tell me when you're sure."
He watched as she walked away, his thoughts filled with words he was unable to say.
