Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Because Everyone Wears Louis V

I'm hooked on reading this, so yes, keep writing it!!!

This is one of those situations in life where if you could look into the future, you would make your decisions a little differently.

Some men really do not give a damn, never care, and forget children as easily as they forget the women they made them with. Others, like Lance, just need that hard kick in the ass to get on the path to growing up and taking responsibilty for the biggest, most important job of their lives.

I can't fault Bella for not risking having her hear shattered twice by a man I think she still loves.

It's time to move forward.

Can't wait for your next update!!

Yet for some reason, he asks her to be his new assistant.  Although doubtful that they can co-exist without killing each other, Collista has her grade in his class to think about and so accepts the position.  One thing leads to another, and before long, the two are finding it hard to maintain their professional distance.

Then the specter of Aidan's murky past casts its shadow over the forbidden relationship.  Add a priceless painting, a ruthless art collector and soon Collista finds herself in the position of having to help Aidan solve a mystery before he goes down for the count.  Will he have enough time to teach her what she needs to know about the art of the steal?

Title: Chapter 12: Chapter Ten

WTH? Can't be good if Carla's arrival drives Aidan to drink and distancing himself from Collista. I have a feeling saying away from him might not be a bad idea for Collista at his point!!

What an intriguing chapter!! Please keep them coming!!!

Title: Chapter 14: Chapter Twelve

Good grief!!! Collista is a drama queen and a spoiled brat. Fuming and pitching a trantrum in the cafe within sight of Carla who gets off on pushing Aiden'a buttons. Collista could use some of Iris's intuition or at least shut up with her ranting and raving long enough to LISTEN to what Iris was trying to tell her.

I'm glad they made up,,,  and how. Re-directing some of her energies into a little investigative work might lead her to who that witch Carla is and wants with Aiden or at least why the art collection is so iintersting and/or special.

The plot thickens...

Author's Response:

Aww!   Collista is pissing you off, BG.  Well, she admitted to being a bit of a spoiled princess a few chapters back so we shouldn't be entirely surprised.  I think she'll 'woman' up before long especially with Iris to encourage her and begin to want to get to the bottom of things.

Thanks for reviewing.

Title: Chapter 19: Chapter Seventeen

Great update.

Wow. Collista amazed me with her display of maturity, understanding, and support of Aidan when he relealed the truth.

LOL. And the way she "handled" her step-mother and her father.

Keep those updates coming.

Author's Response:

Glad you're enjoying Collista.  She really is blossoming and her maturity is evident.  I liked how she "finessed" both Ben and Tabitha, too.  lol

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Title: Chapter 24: Chapter Twenty-Two

Thank you, thank you for the update!!

Damn, Aidan's busted! Hmmm... so that dastardly bitch Carla and her gang were successful. A little switcheroo, perhaps?

Aidan should have had the blood test that night. Carla probably intended to set him up all along. Now his past will be revealed and the dominos will start tumbling, even if he is innocent of this and has been squeaky clean for years.

Great update. The plot thickens...

See you back real soon, right?

Author's Response:

A slight of hand?  Perhaps.

The next chapter will be up very soon.  Yes.

Kristina Ward is looking for a fresh start. She has just gotten out of a relationship with a married man who also had children. She would have never guess a woman as intelligent as her would miss the warning signs of his deception. But she had. There was nothing like a heartbreak to make a woman reevaluate her life. Too bad her first night in town gets off to a bad start when she is propositioned by a complete stranger. Yes he is sexy as sin but so what. His rudeness deters from it. Robert Cantu doesn't normally go out and he isn't much of a drinker either but it still doesn't excuse his behavior during his first encounter with Kristina. He also knows his first impression just might be his last. He can't afford to lose her. It is hard to find good, qualified help especially since most people are clamoring to leave San Angelo. He is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Kristina on board even if it means ignoring his intense attraction to her . . .

I'm loving Kristina and Robert together. His deermination finally paid off. I hope he realizes the work that needs to go into keeping the squirrly Kristina from bolting with the first sign of trouble.

Wow!! Robert is insatiable. However, Kristina needs to have a serious conversation with him... sooner than later. What if he wants more than great sex? That hasn't gotten old yet and she's already about to bolt.

I really don't know what to think of Justin. So, he's saying that it never would have occurred to him that he had an obligation to Jessica if Leslie hadn't filed for child support or his friend's baby hadn't died??? And Leslie has been struggling on her own for how many years??? I guess better late than never.

I'm enjoying reading this story. Please update again soon.

Title: Chapter 1: the CAST

Ah, so Imani and Linda meet. What a sweet and unique way of having them finally meet. Imani is a truly considerate, compassionate young woman. Linda is taken with her too.

Great story. Great chapter. Can't wait to read more.

Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 6

Enjoyed the update.

Linda and Imani made quite a connection. Mickey being awe-struck by Imani certainly wasn't lost on Linda. Imani for having such a good, generous heart can use a little self-confidence. She didn't assess Linda wrong. Linda may not be wanting in money but she wants fulfillment and hope. Amani and her dream, her vision filled her with that.

Good for Linda going out in search of Imani. However, she should have left Mickey a note. Finding his mother missing after run ins with the wacky interviewee and the greedy plastic wife, Mickey will need more than Grey Goose to calm his nerves.

Looking forward to the next update.

Author's Response: Thanks Blue for the wonderful review and for sharing your thoughts of the read. Not much gets by Linda...that's for sure! :-)

Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 8

"Linda swallowed the cottony-candy goodness.  She was falling for the possibilities as her mind did a mental arithmetic of Micky minus Rachel plus Imani equaled Happy."

LOL. That was like prose... and funny as hell. I love how Linda thinks.

"Oh she made a note to eradicating Rachel from his life at hello.  And hoped that she'd go quietly, though likely not since women like Rachel lived for the encores."

Obviously Linda had taken an instant dislike to Rachel, especially for her son. Now that she's found the right woman for Micky, let's see how creative she'll get in making Rachel leave for good.

I love Imani, Linda and Micky. What a sweet, sweet story and great read!!!

Author's Response:

Linda is a matchmaker indeed.  When she backs off of them, you'll see some magic happen!

Linda is post parenting.  She missed a lot of time and wishes her influence was present...but she'll find that Micky does have a lot of her heart.  He keeps it all hidden!

Thanks for reading! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!  It's so much more than a love story that I simply couldn't call it that.  It's about healing and growth.

Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 9

Sorry, lady, love this chapter as much as the ones before it. Bummed about MJ or not, you still did good.

This chapter was sweet, understated, and a little reserved... sad. I believe the sense of lost we've experienced this week came through in your writing.

Micky is so starved for caring and affection, he operates with cool, machine-like precision. Linda is the opposite. Facing her mortality, she's in it to enjoy what's left all the way to the end. Imani tries to maintain a reserved demeanor but is all emotion to her core. And Rafaella?? A brewing hurricane.

I was prepared to feel sorry for the reaming Rafaella is about to give Micky, but perhaps he really needs a good shake up to break some of the ice off him.

Great chapter. Feel better and happy writing!!!

Author's Response: Thanks. I am glad you liked it. And impressed that you've nailed Micky outright. He's a cynic and full of his stuff that he's going to need a lot of work! I am going to enjoy deconstructing Micky. He's a great character to work with.

Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 10

LOL. So, ole "cement shorts" has admitted his attraction to Imani. I knew Rafi would be a riot. Chicken shit Micky seems whipped by all the women in his life, to the point of physically and emotionally hiding from them. Now he won't hire Imani because he's chosen to "hide" from her too? Not by the time Rafi and Linda get through with him.

Love the story!! Thanks for the update!!

Happy 4th to you, too!!!

Author's Response:

Indeed.  Without warning or plan, they all, including Earle will help this dude get the rocks out of his shorts...indeed!

I'm so glad you are loving it...I'm enjoying the writing.  I hope you had a wonderful holiday! Stay tuned for more updates! :-)

Title: Chapter 1: the CAST

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I actually love Micky.

He's the type of guy you observe from a far and note their great potential and wonder, what if...? Any sane woman would keep on walking, forget about it, but what does sanity have to do with admiration, attraction, or love?

Author's Response: I love Micky too.  He's a brick for good reasons.  He's all cerebral.  But he has such a huge heart!  He protects it sealed inside a crypt! And unfortunately Rachel is the crypt keeper.  I like you're point! :-)

Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 11

Enjoyed tremendously! Linda, Rafi, and Imani... Earle and  Micky don't stand a chance.

I'm curious how Earle and Micky even became and remain good friends... They are sooo different.

Also, did the "wife on paper" knock Micky over the head and drag him before some hack preacher at a 24/7 Vegas chapel to get married? I mean, his money and status seem to suit her needs well, but what did he get out of it, if anything? Where is she anyway?

Spa day is great. I'm glad Imani has made another friend in Rafi. That Linda sure is a cleaver old gal. LOL.

Dinner should be a scream!!

Hmmm... I wonder if Earle is seriously interested in Imani or just seriously interested in plucking Micky's too tight nerves all to force him into admitting his interest in her.

Thanks for the new chapter. I'm eagerly anticipating the next!!

Author's Response:

LMAO...You know the adage...opposites attract? Earle is pushy and secretly admired by Micky.  They met in college and never connected.  But then Earle went looking for a money manager and their friendship was born.  Micky wants out of the mauseleum, and whether he wants to admit it or not, the loss of his child ushered an awakening.  Rachel isn't the woman for him.  She never was.  She's far too much of a diva.  He needs a little more depth in a woman to thaw the ice around his heart.

Imani is adored by all.  She glows.  She's like the missing piece that every one needs and fits right in.  Micky needs her.

Glad you are enjoying this!

Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 12

GREAT CHAPTER! I LOVE THIS STORY AND THE CHARACTERS!!

THE THREE WOMEN ARE VERY COMPATIBLE. TOO BAD RAFI'S VISIT WAS SO SHORT. AND WHERE IS RACHEL? I NOTICED THAT RAFI DIDN'T EVEN ASK FOR HER. NOONE DOES, ACTUALLY.

EARLE SEEMED TO LET MICKY OFF THE HOOK. MICKY GENERATED ENOUGH OF HIS OWN DISCOMFORT, EARLE TURNING UP THE CHARM AND FLIRTING ANOTHER NOTCH MIGHT HAVE SENT OLD CEMENT SHORTS OVER THE EDGE.

I WAS HOPEFUL FOR A LITLE CONNECTION BETWEEN MICKY AND IMANI. IT WAS THERE BUT VERY SUBTLE. IT WILL TAKE TIME.

SO, MICKY'S GOT TALENT, HUH? HE NEEDS TO GET BACK TO PAINTING TO UNWIND. THAT MEANS CHERYL WON'T LAST A WEEK. I CAN'T DO "PERKY' FIRST THING IN THE MORNING BEFORE COFFEE. SHE'LL GET ON THEIR NERVES BY THE THIRD DAY, MARK MY WORDS. LOL.

CAN'T WAIT TO READF WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.

Title: Chapter 14: Chapter 13

LOL. What an ingenius way of getting rid of Cheryl. How-ev-er, I'm still suspicious of Linda. What? Was her stash hiding in plain sight, tempting the over-bubbly home health aide?

Thank you, thank you for addressing Rachel, Micky and their farce of a marriage. time for NMicky to ley go snf move on. Earle gives good advice.

My favor line was,  "I mean you can be a bore,  but you've got some great bullet points.  You're like...an iceberg. That's not a bad thing.  What I mean to say is that like an iceberg, most of your mass is beneath the surface.  You need to find a way to get the real you out for visual inspection..."

An iceberg....  what a great analogy. And a cliffhager at the end!!!

The next chapter should be very interesting. Imani's cool, caring, and initiative are bound to impress Micky.

Author's Response: Micky's a deep cat. But he behaves so elusively...He likes her. They just need to chill out. And talk...right now all they are doing is reacting!

Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 14

Oops. Cheryl, the home health aide, was actually CASEY. Sorry.

I agree with Divisionred. I can feel her bitch-slapping mood. I feel it most days at work. LOL.

Yes, sometimes Imani lets her pride take over her good sense. No money, working a few hours on Saturday, sleeping in her car, racking up fines on her property, a permanent kink in her neck versus the salary and perks of caring for a little old lady who'll make work more fun than anything while living in a big ass house with five star accomodations? No freaking decision to mull over longer than five seconds. And that long only to not seem too eager.

Micky goes to works, travels, and is prone to hiding out in his office in his own home rather than dealing with his mother or his growing feelings for Imani. That's on HIM! Ignore him. Avoid him. Or better yet... befriend him. He could use another friend besides Earle.

Now that I've let that out, I can't wait to read how these three establish a routine as they adjust to life under the same roof. It's going to be great reading!!

Until then...

Author's Response: That's ok, I knew who you meant. Imani has pride by the pound and it can be stifling. LMAO...you guys are so funny. I love reading the comments as much as writing the chapters. ;-)

Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 15

Woo Hoo, Rachel was served! Linda is so bad. "She's baaaccckkk!" LOL.

I'm glad Imani took the job and went to help Micky after crazy Rachel trashed his stuff. Again, he needs another friend besides Earle. Plus he needs to develop a rapport and become more comfortable around Imani.

I'm cautious of rebound syndrome clouding any growing friendship between them, even if the marriage was already over, both physically and emotionally checked out of the relationship long ago.

Oh, and wait 'til hurricane Rachel gets a whiff of Imani living in the house. Caregiver her greedy ass! she'll probably screech.

Great chapter. I'm looking forward to more!!

Author's Response: Imani needs so much and has gone without so long plus has endured one scammer after another. She doesn't trust. And Micky has some issues of his own. Friendship is the best thing for them now. Thanks for reading! More to come!

Great chapter!! I enjoyed it very much!!!

Please give Linda at least enough tiome to reconcile with Micky, see him free of that parasite Rachel, and maybe moving towards something with Imani.

I knew the witch would get all possessive and evil if she ever found out about Imani. What do they say about what happens if you invite the vampire into the house??? And isn't Imani earning enough to be paying down the fines on her property?

More updates this week would be greatly, eagerly appreciated.

Great work!!

Title: Chapter 18: Chapter 17

Yeah! My man Micky is showing some signs of life. He's trippin', slippin' and slidin' for now, but I'm confident that he can smooth out his moves. His motives for dating are at least half wrong, but his own Freudian slip betrayed him.

Rachel is desperate and totally misses the point. Has all that shopping and primping gotten her anything? How can she expect to continue to milk Micky like a cash cow and call that a marriage worth saving? She can' so she's chosen to go after Imani instead.

This won't work either.

Author's Response: Imani is priceless...Rachel could never afford her. Micky tried didn't he? Poor thing. He wants Imani so bad but he's honoring their agreement. Rachel is sick. The well is dry and until the settlement conference comes she's on minimum wage. LMAO!
