Title: Chapter 25: Chapter 25 You And Me And All Other People

As much as I like this story, I have to read it now through my fingers like watching a horror movie or something. At this point, there's really no outcome that will satisfy me short of Justin being hit by a bus. Can he be hit by a bus, pleeeaassseeeee???

Ok, let's say that he finally wises up and does the right thing, dumps Stacey, goes for Jalena and gets to be happy with the girl he wants. Yay him. But what does Jalena get? She gets to be with the guy that jerked her around, played with her emotions, pursued her sexually in private while declaring his devotion to someone else in public and worst of the worst, thought so little of her that he tried to smex her in a restroom bathroom. Um...yay? He's had all kinds of time to make his mind about what he wants and all he's done with it is declare his loyalty to Stacy while treating Jalena like a silly chick on the side.

I really, really, REALLY hope that Jalena gets to move on, accomplish her dreams and find someone who both loves AND respects her... while Justin is forced to watch and eat his heart out since he finally got trapped by his girlfriend and is forced to stay with her and be miserable until their 7 children grow up. Or he can just be hit by a bus. Whatever works!

Tyler could count on one hand the number of attempted, but failed relationships that he had; had. It was getting to the point that he just was ready to give up on finding love or the right person he could give his entire self to. Most of the women he had a relationship with didn't last long not because they didn't want it, they just couldn't handle his faults or flaws. Tyler Hollis had a secret an extremely large secret that over the years, he had learned how to control to an extent, but at some point in the relationship, it would become the topic of conversation and downhill the relationships would go. He was looking for that one special woman that wouldn't mind them; he wasn't sure if she was the one, but the way he was feeling about her he wanted to make her the one. It wasn't very many women he had wanted in his thirty-eight years, but her he felt he couldn't live without.

Kayla had only had two real relationships in her life, okay let's be honest one and she wasn't even sure that was the real thing. It had been over seven years ago. She had always focused on her career, she was what they called a workaholic, her best friends India and Traci would tell her she was sexually deprived, that she needed to started living before she woke up one morning and life had passed her bye. However, never in her right mind did she think she would be in a predicament like this, it was totally out of her character to let something like this happen, and to let it happen like this. It was overwhelming more like surreal an impulsive act, or so she thought. Could it have been a calculating move on his part or was it just something that happened to happen. But if they both were completely honest with themselves it had been building ever since that faithful snowy morning.

Title: Chapter 31: Crossing the Boundary Lines

Kayla and Tyler are both childish and argumentative. So far, they've done nothing but argue over damn near everything - but that last fight was an entirely different animal. It wasn't one of them whining about phone messages or other friendships or television shows. Tyler out and out called his pregnant girlfriend a liar and a whore and accused her of trying to push another man's baby onto him. That was just way, WAY over the line and after that, Kayla has every right to take time to reevaluate their relationship especially since, if I'm reading the timeline of this story correctly, less than a week has gone by since the blow-up.

 

Tyler seems to have a history of jealousy/trust issues with Kayla which is understandable given the way they met, but not something that anyone should have to deal with on a regular basis. If Tyler's reaction is so over-the-top hurtful, what's to stop him from reacting that way every time his trust button is pushed? They definitely both need to dial down the junior high and really talk about their issues and concerns...but is dinner on Valentine's Day REALLY the time and place for that?

Title: Chapter 30: Frayed, But Not Totally Demolished

Tyler seems to have a problem with his temper which really needs to end. Kayla - to paraphrase something I read in an Erosa Knowles novel once - needs to teach him right now that he can't just say any old hurtful thing he wants in the heat of anger and then expect that an apology is gonna make it ok. Tyler slept with a virgin with no birth control and was then surprised that she turned up pregnant? Is he that stupid? Then he told the mother of his child (the woman that he supposedly loves and respects) that his mother was right about her - meaning that Kayla is a lying, golddigging whore - and expects that his piddling 'I'm sorry baby' is supposed to make that ok? Yeah right.
