Summary:

Jill Nzinga has grown up in a United States that is very different from the nation that we all know and love. Due to a large scale war and a terrorist attack that wipes out the entire government the United States falls under the leadership of a totalitarian government that has managed to swallow up the world with it's massive strategic military. The United States is now the United Continents (UC), and Jill Nzinga has been trained from a young age to become a lethal soldier in the the International Corps., a death squad that does the UC's bidding. Due to the UC taking all that Jill holds dear and a mental break, she escapes from the International Corps. and goes on to take a different path. Jill knows all too well the horrors her country has been responsible for, however she has no idea of just how grand the scale of evil she once belonged to really is.

Title: Chapter 3: Right Now...

This whole situation is fucked! I like Davis but the situation doesn't give me much room to like him outside of the fact that he's more normal than the doctor. Nevertheless the ending was comforting. It's funny because as I read on I constantly wondered what would Tess/Jay and the crew do in this situation. Lol

Author's Response:

Crumble to the ground screaming and crying....lol

Title: Chapter 1: Jill Nzinga

Wow! That was extremely powerful and strangely realistic. This is a scarcely reality that child soldiers face on a global level. My heart raced with every paragraph because I kept thinking I would rebel and it wouldn't be me. When you mentioned the medical experiment facilities my heart literally dropped into my stomach. The scariest thought about Jill's story is that there is no safe haven or a hopeful notion that things can change. I want nothing more for her to be captured by the resistance and try to heal from the horrific crimes she was made to commit. The fact that you titled your story "when they came for me" sent chills down my spine, that speech is on the wall of the Holocast museum. I had tears in my eyes as soon as I saw the title. I'm gonna try my hardest to continue to read and support you because you are an amazing artist but these things always scare me. Weird but cool side note as I read this all I could think about "Time" by Hans Zimmer and "This Bitter Earth" sung by Dinah Washington. Like I said I will try to read but my heart is heavy. Boy oh boy, you have grown so much as a writer I am proud of you. I do like the story it's just things like this give me nightmares. You still rock!

Title: Chapter 2: Waking up...

I'm braver than I thought. I have to go back and read I'm slightly unsure of what's going on in reference to the family who took her in. Are they dead? I'll re-read...I want the scientist to play in high speed traffic for the way he and the "government" are treating Jill.

Title: Chapter 45: Chapter 45

PAUSE!

This is your story and it belongs to YOU, that is the first thing I would like for you to know. Second, if readers decide they want to continue on elsewhere let them. You cannot please everyone and the moment you do, you have officially lost the most important participant, you. I hate when I see writers post Author Notes like this, it just breaks my heart. Whether I like the story or not, you have built these characters and this world with all these loose ends that deserve to be tied up. Now for the sake of the story it can come across that the chapters are mere situations fused into a story, but I think not. My concern is I don't know what the hero (Jodi) wants anymore but that's why we read; to get to the end. I just want her to so realize that she is good enough and shouldn't have to use her body in order to get love. By now she should tell her step mom and brother. What's with the headaches, BBC, and Dan???? I feel like Craig's POV was insightful. But remember you are telling at story about her loneliness and how she can overcome that. Please continue being great! You are an awesome writer. Keep GOING THIS BELONGS TO YOU!

Author's Response:

I had to login just to send a review! I am absolutely w/o a doubt on team Kerri/Quen/Brandon, Mark can go to hell. He will not have his cake and eat it too. Kerri sitting there waiting on a ring (side note: baby girl should have taken some initiative but we won't argue the obvious). Brandon shows up out of no where after being Cast away and I bet his best friends name is Wilson. He needs to confront his parents about the distance. SMH poor Quen I need to know more about her so I can make a proper analysis. Keep updating! You are my new favorite!

Summary:

Camille Jackson was rejected since birth over her dark skin complexion. She has grown a tough skin and doesn’t get attached to anyone because of how some people have viewed her without even getting to know her. However Camille opens her heart to a baby in need and for the first six months Camille has grown to love the baby as if she were her own. That is until the baby's biological father comes into the picture.

Hiram Whitfield Jr was brought up in one of the most well known Ku Klux Klan families in the south and as the only son he feels the pressure to carry on his family's tradition. After finishing his prison sentence all Hiram wants to do is change his life for the better and be a good father to his child. If that means being disowned by his bigoted family then so be it. Ironically enough Hiram would have never thought that Camille would be the one to be his rock and strength to do so.

I am so in love with the way you have developed this story. Your characters are so flushed out that EVEN though we can easily decipher friend from villain you still manage to leave room for redemption. I am glad to see that you have updated and are carrying on without missing a beat. Have a blessed holiday.
