Excellent, you are a rare and grifted writer. As for Wren she is not a twist person, she is aware of her own sexuality. Donner is a wicked and damage human being. I believe that Wren picked Avery because he is safe, eventually she would had left him. As for River he is waiting for Wren to recover.

Wow, this therapy ain't helping becasue Wren doesn't want to release the pain.  Wren if you don't want Avery anymore then let him go!!  If you want your life back you need to truly embrace your therapy to heal.  Wren you didn't want what Donner did to you, if you are thinking that then he won.  I need more of this story please!!!

Umm...the short answer...no...however...their relationship is complicated as Hades and I'm still building the dynamics...hopefully that bit will make sense after a few more updates...

Thanks for a great update.  I am stunned by the turn of events but glad that Wren is out of the mad mans hands but only to want a different kind of man.  I like Avery and I feel sad for him.  He is the one that has lost a lot in this ordeal.

I'm really impressed with this update and I’ll tell you why:  it was informative without being obvious. The reader steps back and realizes, wow, a lot was revealed in such a relatively short chapter!


Wren is really courageous in her fight to heal.  She will soon face her attacker in court…that alone symbolizes her strength to persevere.  We also get a peek into the rescue, a hint as to how long she was in captivity and perhaps why she’s ‘attracted’ to the detective by referencing the hero complex.  It’s quite evident that this ordeal has put a strain on her feelings toward Avery.  How could it not?  She’s emotionally and psychologically bamboozled with misdirected affections [possibly] - which leads right back to needing the security of River’s presence. Most often, relationships become casualties of these crimes but I'm so very glad that he’s by her side, supporting her every step of the way – even if they don’t last he’s still there for her.


Kudos on writing the scene with the prosecutor!  The impromptu prep of the victim by the ADA was spot on!  Nice flow. Very believable and realistic…again I'm damn impressed!. Fantastic job Scribe!
