Oh gawd, her pain was pure agony! My heart broke for her, and him too. I didn't realize i was holding my breath as I, like Ethan, was horrified has she relived that hellish moment. Surely he never could have imagined that, that would be Danica's reason for abandoning him. His shell-shock reation is understandable...in that moment, it's as if he's been victimized as well. Experiencing all those emotions at once - notwithstanding the realization that the woman he loves went through, and lives with, that day was too much to bear.
It is with great hope that Ethan can pull himselt together and be there for Danica. Obviously she's sought therapy during her time away and is a strong woman to return to her hometown but she needs Ethan's strengh, his love, to solidify her resolve to regain her life.
Though a short chapter, it was a powerful read, palpable, heartwrenching. Great writing!

I'm so glad you're back. Rape is such a horrible crime and it doesn't seem as if Danni has gotten any help. Ethan is going to need some also. I hope Sean gets thrown under the jail. I'm sure she's not the only one he's done this to.

tbh thats so horrible but i think Ethan will be even more mad. 1. for anyone putting their hands on her 2. The fact she thinks of herself as ruined and 3. that she doesn't trust him enough to love her unconditionally. I feel for Danny :( great chap!

Great story. I did wonder if this is what had happened. My one criticism is that the chapters are much too short for a story this good.
One of the things that surprised me about the reviews was the repeated calls for Danica to "man up". It made me wonder why the reaction to her behaviour was so extreme? It was obvious that something traumatic had happened to her. Her family were treating her with kid gloves. Yet there was no allowance made for that.
It also makes me wonder why we won't allow ourselves to be "soft" or to acknowledge that to be human means we have "finer feelings"?
Anyway, this is suppose to be a review. Great job, sojo, can't wait to read the coming chapters.

I figured it was this but I still feel there was no consideration for Ethan's feelings. She dissapeared with no word to him so he's left in limbo. I don't know what she thought would happen but he obviously loves her. I hope that she's able to get help so that she can heal and they can mend tgeir relationship.

So now it's all coming out. Reading her thoughts I'm just wondering if she and Ethan were waiting and maybe hadn't consumated their relationship and now a person has come and taken what was rightfully his, her virginity. Is this why she ran and why she feels that she's damaged beyond repair and no longer worthy of Ethan?
Still, she should have told him, though this scenerio would explain a lot. I can't wait to see what comes next. If the rapist was a friend or coworker who Ethan warned her about, but she wrote off his concerns as him being paranoid and/or jealous then that would also put her running away into perspective.
I look forward to whatever direction you take this story!
