Sooooo...1st thing 1st : thanks for the new chapter. It has been a long time! So I still like the story, the writing, the characters. BUT I SO HATE that PREGANCY STORYLINE ! UGH ! I just can't get over the fact that we got played around with the false pregnancy alarms to have them be declared false and then...BIG PLOT TWIST: SHE'S PREGNANT! I think it is a very cheap move.
Then comes the other very predictable move : of course she is going to keep it. Like, only bad bad girl gets abortion, right? Thats the pattern in almost every story out there. The "bad" girl has had or is having abortions. The "good" girl is going ahead with the pregnancy. No lead female character, no proper heroine can make that choice? I am being a bit harshg but it's because I am disapointed with the way the story is going. I find it so predicatable and...unoriginal.
Like, for once, what about writing about a complex and sometimes annoying but still likable good decent female lead character who gets pregnant by accident and decides to have an abortion with the support of her lover? What about exploring THAT journey? It is complicated, messy, difficult. I wouldn't think less of her if she did do it. I wouldn't like her more, she would still be annoying with being angry with everyone, and still be an overall nice decent girl I ultimately root for. Is it too much to ask, really?
I guess I am being unfair asking for that to this specific story. Especially as I really like this story. I like Roddrick and Milo and I want them together. I even like big mouth Danny, who was being so rude and horrible to Milo, even if she thought she was "standing for her girl". It's just...yeah, a bit disappointing.Reviewer: RedHobo Signed [Report This]

I reread this chapter again and it occurred to me that Roddrick is a strong person. She has experienced domestic violence, physical and psychological abuse by a father who basically disowned her. She fled her childhood home, overcame obstacles in school and college, waylaid her personal life to care for her family and despite these challenges, she hasn’t drugged-out, tricked-out or checked-out of life; instead, she has maintained a semblance of normalcy and stability. Sure Roddrick struggles with the matters of the heart with frustration and attitude, what female hasn’t? Yet she doesn’t cower to adversity- she just doesn’t have time for bullshit. Roddrick worries too much about everything…absolutely…but never runs from responsibilities; her only weakness is Milo (lol)…dude just does it for her, overloads her emotions ‘cause hey...she’s got a love jones for the man. Perhaps she’ll deal with Milo and an unplanned pregnancy as most strong-willed women in her situation do: the best way that she can.Reviewer: JV4ME Signed [Report This]

Thanks for the new chapter, but yep, don't like the pregnancy bit at all. Especially after several "false alarms". UGH! Why, oh why ??? If it weren't for the good writing...ARGH! Also, I am a bit tired of Roddrick being so angry at everyone all the time. I know she has good reasons, especially due to her childhood. And Brian cheated on her. And Milo...well, said some stupif shit. But all this anger and being mad at practically everyone is just that, tiring. I like the character, I like how independant she is (that is one of the reason why I don't like this pregnancy bit), but really it is hard. And now I dread even more gloomy stuff now...Reviewer: RedHobo Signed [Report This]

Oh no indeed!!!! It would not be the norm for a woman of colour to have an easy life/relationship especially with an attitude like the "angry black woman" a chip on their shoulder full of angry and hurt, brought on by their past. Roddrick is just that. I don't know why but most of the stories whether on this site or others with regards to women of colour have the same set scenario angry or weak or both. I wonder is this a reality insight. But hey I love ready your story regardless of my rant lol.Reviewer: skriver Signed [Report This]

YES! I'm so glad things went down the way they did. I'm so not into the bullshitting and the beating-around-the-bush type angles: Milo not finding out he's a father until his kid in dentures! Or some such other nonsense. It is what it is. When two people hook up, especially the way Milo and Roddrick did...sometimes seeds bear fruit. It will be interesting to see how they - Milo and Rodderick - handle the reality of their child they created. Not saying that these turn of events will bring them together, however, they definitely have a long road ahead of them and they need to talk, really talk, and Roddrick needs to stop running.
Lauren is so blinded by Milo's past, she can't see what's so crystal clear in front of her face. Even Brian noticed.
Anyhoo, thank you for 'penning' such intriguing story. I very anxious to see what happens next with our non-couple/couple.
Great jobReviewer: JV4ME Signed [Report This]

I absolutely love Milo. He is just too adorable when it comes to Roddick. He is immature and from reading the story, the only relationship he has had was very toxic. Hope they can become friends and share before going further. Can't wait until they both realize they are living in the same building. Ooohhh maybe they will be next door neighbors. That would be nice.Reviewer: lajack1 Signed [Report This]

I like this story, thanks for the new chapter.
I also like Roddrick, she is an interesting female character but I am not sure how I feel about the way she behaves. She sounds so angry about everything...I was puzzled about how rude she was with Milo at firts, in that restaurant. Then she did not contact him for months, then she went to the bar but was ready to ran out after 5 minutes. I understand why she left and Milo was very wrong, but then, it looks like she still feels something for him, so I don't think she is really done. She should just hear what he has to say to make up her mind. Anyway I am glad that the pregancy test was negative and I really hope it is for real and there is no more pregancy scare. I really dislike when pregancy is sued to put the characters together. Is it possible that what she has is related to her mother's illness?
Milo did mistakes after mistakes in less than 24 hours, he was very very dumb, but i still like him, he sounds genuine. He just needs to learn how to be honest and stop trying to please everyone. Also, if he feels so strongly about Roddrick, he must keep trying and not letting her go without explaining everything : how he was dumb to say what he said and how he actually feels about her. Then Roddrick will have to decide if he is worth it or not.

You know I'd be more impressed with Milo's defense of Roddrick, if he had done that BEFORE he had sex with that slagbeast.
It's probably good that Roddrick moves out. Is that a false negative? Why is she upchucking so much?
If she does give Milo another chance, she better have him get tested. Just thinking about him and Slaggy makes me want to hurl.Reviewer: BellaChica Anonymous [Report This]

Well his having sex with Alex is going to bite him in the ass in the future. Yeah, she's pregnant she didn't do the test correctly probably ran water under it. Also, I think it is best for her to move out. They will get along better. Her sister has a big mouth erghhhhhReviewer: lilsunseeker Signed [Report This]

wow, that really sucked...Milo I don't know if he was just plain dumb to try and calm Alex down or just very young and needs to grow up or man up. Either way how does Rod forgive something like what he said. My thought was sure he was trying to calm the situation but the words he said to her was making it hard for him to later get out of. Don't really feel sorry for him. He had to know what was up by how she was all over him. What is was amused by is how Alex considered her a non factor because of her race. lol Always happensReviewer: lilsunseeker Signed [Report This]

Awww Milo, you den messed up now. You dealing with a woman you don't want who has jacked up your chances with a woman you do want. How are you going to convince her you were serious. Might as well move on buddy because she is not going to give you the time of day. Look how much work you had to put in for her to show up at the bar. Boy that deserves the mama hit upside the head move right there. I mean bringing it back from around the world and SMACK right in the back of the head.Reviewer: lajack1 Signed [Report This]

These two really woo me! I love it when they're together; there's a calming easiness about them...a mutual...ah...respect- admiration- I guess I could say- that keeps their personalities humbled. Loved the song being 'penned' just for Rodderick and performed only in her presence. I dearly hope her reaction is welcoming and graciously expressed in honor of his genuine plea for something more.
Sidenote: Roderica is an adorable, very likeable little sister

Still very much interested in the story. The other aspects of the main storyline provide a good foundation for these characters and highlights where they are in life but i must admit that i would love to see more Rodderick/Milo moments. For some reason, Rodderick seems to bring out the best in Milo, even though they've only had snippets of conversing. Milo exudes confidence when in her company and much more masculine/mature than his twenty-two years; it's very sexy!
Forget Brian, he's her much needed past, her present - hopefully- will become a permanent part of her ever-growing future. Rodderick should've come clean with Lauren; she could've at least covered by saying, 'yeah, i saw him at the wedding but didn't know who he was', which would've been the truth without divulging more truths about their passionate encounter. Now I fear Lauren will accuse him of being 'a creep' and how will that affect Milo? However, as Milo once thought to himself and I tend to believe in his resolve: he's grown since those days of darkness. That is his past. Unbeknowst to him, he has a better future to look forward to.
Thanks for the substantial updates, this story is cooler than a fan! Great job!Reviewer: JV4ME Signed [Report This]
