I've read plenty of books watched a plethora of shows and none as ever come close to the turmoil these last two chapters.
I'm sure people thought I was crazy the way I was acting on the bus while reading the last chapter messed around and missed my damn stop too.
Let's start with Richard. He is a f×cking selfish basted but I think he really does care for Natalia and divorced her cause he got caught with his pants down. I believe he was really protecting her from his family as messed up as it is. I believe he did what he did because he couldn't stomach losing another woman to the seed of the man who knocked Mercedes up (I think it was his father(Pop Pop) but I'll wait to see what happens).
Rich didn't mean to let it all out like that but emotions running high and he was worried about Natalia given her condition. I think he snapped because it still bothers him what Mercedes did to his mother and father relationship. He didn't out her to hurt Ant but more to Hurt Mercedes the way she hurt him and his family. He has never really forgiven either Richard or Mercedes. I know the brothers will work it out.
Anthony Anthony Anthony! Boy you need lots of therapy. I'm so proud of you for introducing Natalia and so sorry for the blow you took as a result. I'm praying you forgive both Natalia and Rich and even your mother cause you not gonna be able to move ford and enjoy your life if you don't and you deserve that and more.
Natalia, please tell Anthony when he gets back the truth no relation ship built on secrets will last example 1: your marriage to Richard. I know Anthony will forgive you because you two have been through worst and love is all about sacrifice, honesty and loyalty. I really need Nat to cool down though this stressful environment ain't good for her and the babies.

Great insight, Sharlene. I have to agree with your assessment of the character. Richard has allowed his desire for women, vegeance, and his family's approval to get the best of him, but he does feel a deep love for Nat. And Mercede unlocked years of resentment with her attack on Nat. As far as Rich is concerned, she bears most of the blame for his parent's divorce and Anthony's miserable childhood. Nat keeping her prior knowledge a secret would be a huge mistake, but may be one she doesn't get a chance to make. More on that next chapter.

OMG. I am trying to catch up. I've missed so much, but man these last few chapters I've read, mind blowingly good. Natalia is possibly pregnant again? WHAT? I'm so nervous for her and Anthony.
But I kind of had a feeling that Richard, when trying to insert his claim, reconquer his "territory" that has since given him the deuces and he said to Anthoy that he was a mistake his bleeding-heart mother should have fixed, and that he was a father to Anthony, ha, when other men would have left him out to starve...kind of implanted in my head that Anthony wasn't his because what biological father would say that to their biological son? Unless he is truly a prick, and Richard Sr. has shown what a real prick he is. But now to have medial confirmation his vasectomy came 4 years before Anthony's birth...Miss Self-Righteous Talerico has some 'splaining to do.

Ant is going back to confront Mercedes and Richard. Hopeful he will tell them all and cut them loose. Who is his daddy?
Rich suffered as much as Ant: 1) he had Rich Sr as a father, and 2)he had to watch another woman replace his own mom. Ant should forgive him.
Nat shouldn't be blame bc she was protecting Ant. She knew he couldn't handle this news on top of Pop-Pop death. Now, hearing that vmail might upset her bc only Rich could be heard defending her...she doesn't know Ant was struggling to get loose so he could open up a can of whup-ass.
Rich and Ant family are the type of people you hate to admit knowing, much less being related to.

I have to agree that Rich has suffered, and pain is relative, but he did have the benefit of a stable, supportive mother and Richard's love growing up. Richard and Theresa doted on Rich and Thomas, while Mercede micromanaged Anthony and Richard mistreated/neglected him. And they all had to endure seeing another woman break-up their homes because Richard was a rolling stone.
Ant should forgive Rich, because Rich is his brother, he loves him, and he didn't mean to hurt him. And eventually, he likely will. But it will be very difficult to let him back in, especially when Ant finds out Rich knew for ten years and said nothing only to announce it in front of their entire family.
How Nat reacts to the voicemail and how much blame she recieves remains to be seen. Ant is up in his feelings, and rightfully so, so it may be hard for him to see reason.

I didn't mean to make you cry, but I love that you sympathize with the characters to the point of tears. Nat keeping the fact that she knew from Ant is a risky proposition. Richard and Rich both know she knew. And while Rich would never rat her out (at least not on purpose), Richard has shown himself prone to that sort of malice. Telling Ant will be difficult, but hiding her prior knowledge may be worse. We'll soon see which she chooses and how it all turns out.

One thing I forgot to mention is about Rich, and how he's impacted by all of this. Even though he acts all hard assed on the outside, you can really tell he cares about his family. His statement to Natalia at the end has my heart going out to him as well. Seems as if he feels that his own relationship with Ant has been jeaprodized by all of this when he mentioned that he thinks Natlia and the baby will be the only ones considered family. I just hope that once Ant gets past the initial impact of this, he'll come to realize what's really important and who has had his back the whole time.
I wonder how much of the meealee of the argument between Ant's and his family will Natalia be subjected to on her voice mail? Whew! Can't wait for the next update!

You're right. Rich acts tough, but he's been affected by his father's and Mercede's lies and betrayal more than I think even he realized. Of all the things and people he cares about, none rank higher than Anthony, which is why he's devastated to have had a hand in hurting him. He pretty much assumes he's ruined their relationship. Hopefully, he's wrong.

Whew, this chapter had a lot going on! I'm glad Anthony's mother finally has her lies revealed, that should shut her up for a bit. Richard is pathetic and I'm sure hell get his down the line. Poor Anthony, what a bombshell to be hit with. I feel bad that Natalie seems to be a little lost in the madness, I hope at least Rich notices the state she's in and gets her checked out.

Nat has kind of drifted into the background with Anthony still reeling from the news, and Rich steeped in regret. It's probably for the best. Because if they were able to focus on her, they'd realize something was wrong and go in search of the truth she refused to tell Ant. Then he'd kill Richard and Rich would help him dispose of the body, and the epilogue would take place in a Pennsylvania pen on visiting day. ; )
Nat's okay for now. Just worried about Ant. Hopefully, it'll stay that way.

Wow, those Talericos are something else. That cousin called Natalia a racial slur as if it was nothing. Anthony or Rich owes that dude a pop in the mouth. Joelle, I don't know how you do it but you keep my emotions on high alert every chapter. I'm begging you, please show how everyone reacts to what Mercede did, because she desevers all the scorn thrown on Natalia and Anthony. Please have Rich tell everyone that Natalia was actually married to Richard and not just some whore he slept with as Richard it making it out to be. They need to know Richard's duplicity as well. Yeah, the Talericos are pretty repulsive as a whole. Ant and Rich are two of the few good apples and each other's rock, but the way things went down is sure to test their relationship. You can pretty much rule out them never speaking again because their bond was just too strong for it to be completely severed over this. Will they get back to where they used to be is another matter. Forgiving Mercede is going to be a tall order too because, unlike Rich, she has a habit of not respecting Ant's decision and owning her mistakes.

this update had everything. it was intense.intense. intense. first of all thanks for explaning why Ant & Rich didnt hear the fight between Richard & Talia until afterwards.
secondly, and i say it again, Rich is king...! Mama Ant pushed and pushed, thinking she was going to get away with...whatever *roll eyes* when Rich tore her down and stomped her ivory tower to the ground...! it felt like Rich finally snapped and unleashed yeeears of resentment for the many things Mercerde and Richard have done to him but especially Ant.
And it felt good. reeeal good.
sadly Ant is crushed. and i mean pulverized, lool! i...i dont know how he is going to take it when he finds out that Talia knew. God. i just hope - really hope - that he will understand, forgive Talia and focus on the twins.

Wow! You really brought it with this one JJ (1000 stars!!!). This was drama to the fullest! I feel bad for all of them, (Natalia, Ant, and Rich). Was a bit frustrating to see Ant still coming to his mama's defense after she talked so bad about Nat, but I suppose that's his mama. Richard is a straight-up coward. Still trying to save face with all of his lies. Definitely not a good look for a 'real' man. I hope Natalia is ok healthwise given the emotional and physical stress she's been put through. A bit surprised that Rich spilled the beans, but I supposed he just couldn't take Mercede and her pitiful self-righteous act while throwing Natalia under the bus. Again, i just hope Natalia's knowledge of the secret doesn't place a wedge between her and Ant. Was wondering when one of the family members was going to show their bigotry and take it "there"(Uncle Joe).

Poor Rich, Mercede said the wrong thing at the wrong time and tapped into decades of resentment. It was the worst possibiliy way for Ant to find out the truth, but it's out now. Hopefully all their relationships with survive the fallout.

This is one of those chapters you have to read several times to make sure you didn't miss anything. I mean the intensity of it had me holding my breath until I was sure that I could breathe again without needing to pass out. First of all I wish Richard was man enough to tell the truth rather than be a piece of shit that makes himself out to be the victim in every possible way even though he was the one to cheat on every wife he has had because of his small dick and even smaller manhood. All these people want to come at Natalia like she was the one that broke up Richard's marriages and the. Is using Anthony to get back at him. Really how ignorant are they.
Then we have Mercedes who would rather spit on Rich than tell the truth amazes me. She wants to talk to Anthony and Rich about a at being a harlot, someone that doesn't care about family, someone that wants to ruin him. When that is all she did Anthony's whole life with her lies. Richard is a bastard but Mercedes claim to love her son makes me want to punch her straight in the boob. She thinks because she stole him from Rich's mom, lied about Anthony's paternity his whole life, and then continues to try and micrmanger Ant's life that it makes her better that Nat...Screw her.
I hope Ant finds peace with those people that would rather tear him apart then be there for him. Because he needs to be free of their term of family so that he can truly love a at and the baby.
