I hate Matt's parents. Omg!

Had to read these updates a 2nd time and your description of Madi and Matt's feeling were so incredible.  I was shaking with hurt right along with Madi during her family confrontation and crushed for Matt during his ride back to the hotel.  You actually scared me with his line about wanting to hurt Madi because people can do stupid things when hurt.  

This is truly one of the best fiction I've read.

I have to say this:  You can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you cannot pick your family.  Your family is your family.  

Now Madi doesn't have the perfect family, but neither does Matt.  If you will recall, his parents are ignoring her existance and think that Madi is just a passing fad for Matt so they don't have to acknowledge her.  Grumps told the poor woman that she's nothing but a whore after Matt's money and if she gets pregnant the Bradley's will take the baby from her.  Even though the brother has come around, he wasn't too thrilled about the relationship either and they have had a whole lot more time to accept what's going on than Madi's family. They only have a week.

Now Matt has stood up to his family and let them know in no uncertain terms that Madi and He are together.

Don't discount Madi and the interaction with her family just yet.  She did ask him to come and meet them which is a big thing in itself.  She promised to protect him and she's keeping her promise.

She stood up to Jamal when he told her that Matt would never marry her.  Why get upset about that since Matt's family basically said the same thing.

As for Aunt Cleo, she can't wrap her mind around no rich white man wanting her neice for any GOOD reason.  She's still eying him suspiciously, but she hasn't really had time to truly find out yet what a good guy Matt is.  

Once he talks to the Uncle and asks for her hand, I think the family will view Matt in a different light.

Yes they are moochers, but we all have those in the family.  I know I do.  I just tell them to back off and Madi is getting there with her family.  Yeah she helped the cousin with college, but she did stress to her to get a job.  

Madi isn't stupid.  She's not blind.  She knows what's going on, but she's willing to put up with it because...hey they're her family...the good, the bad and the ugly.

Some want this story to rush back across the pond because of Madi's family, back to the Bradleys as if they're standing there with open arms to greet and accept their relationship.   Yeah, right.  LOL

What I like about this story is that the characters aren't all good or bad just like real relatives.  Yes Jenny is a pain and Aunt Cleo has her issues, but I do believe that they love Madi and if those other relatives come and try to start some crap about Madi and Matt, I can see them banding together.

You know the story.  I can talk about my family but you better keep your mouth shut.  

This is a great story and Ms. Carr is doing it her way and that's the only way it's going to be authentic.  You go, Ms. Carr.  We're enjoying the ride!

ok now that i have picked myself up off the floor from laughing so hard, this story is absolutely my favorite on the board. I can't wait to read more - publish and I will definitely purchase several copies - you are an excellent writer.

Great update as always! 

First I think that Dougie is up to no good.  He wants to move in on Matt's territory for sure.  I think he showed up like he did to catch Madi off guard and because she's a nice girl and he's offering her friendship, she didn't see him for the cad that he is.  Matt will have to deal with him for sure.

Now even though I understand him trying to push Madi into therapy, I don't think having the doctor basically lying in wait for a surprise attack was the best move.  Even with him forcing her to face the doctor, Madi will not change her behavior until she is ready to change.  No matter how much he loves her, not matter what he does, until she make it up in her mind and accepts the help she's offered, then no good will come of it.  It's no different than forcing someone into rehab.  If they aren't ready for change, then the behavior won't change or at least not for long.  You see that she talked to the doctor not about her problems, but about the Nutcracker.  LOL

I can't wait for the Thanksgiving visit.  Madi accused Matt of being like her Aunt Cleo.  Did her aunt also try to force her to face her issues?  Did Madi stop going to therapy as soon as she was of age and no longer needed parental consent?  We know how that works; as long as she's not a danger to herself or someone else, no one can make her do anything.

I also wonder if one of the other reasons she fled the US for England was to get away from Aunt Cleo and her demands that she get help.  Hmmmm.  Now she has Matt making demands. LOL  She may have used the ballet as an excuse to run.

I also wonder what is going on with those papers she was signing.  I wonder why she didn't have someone to look them over.  Is she that trusting?

Chapter 54 : wow what a turn around.  Boy does Matt have a rival to tackle.   Madi is starting to take things in stride which is good and the way she handled the situation with Matt was truly remarkable.  I love the way she asserts her independence by not allowing Matt to pay for her therapy.  Glad though she is having therapy and from the sounds of it she is in good hands.  Can't wait for the next update!

I can't get enough of this story, I love how they met, and how their relationship has so many different layers. Most interracial stories I have read are filled with just sex  and I love how this author has given us an unique story filled with humour and alot of serious issues such as rascism, class, cultural differences between the main characters etc.

I love Matt's character in particular he is an alpha male who knows what he wants and right now he wants to take care of Madi and get her the professional help she needs. Last update I was scared that he might have given up on her scraziness but I'm glad he is sticking around for the long haul.  The love he has for her is endearing and genuine. I think we all need a Matt in our lives wouldn't you agree haha.

P.s Has everyone else also noticed that they didn't use a condom?  There could be a possible pregnancy looming me thinks lol.
