i absolutely love Sean but I must admit I'm a tad confused and must reread the previous chapters to gain clarity. How many siblings are there? I thought Tamryn's 'brother' helped buffer the wrath of Shauna and now her brother has been incarcerated for a year?
initinally I thought the Hooks children were bi-racial - thinking that the hierarchy of the clan was of Caucasian descent; thanks for clearing that up for me. Does Larry have any assumptions of Tamryn's affections? And why does he feel imminent doom by the hands of another instead of causes of nature? By whom? Makes ya go mmmm....

There are three Hooks children--Tamryn, Shauna, and Sean. Only Shauna is fair-skinned and biracial (her mother is East Asian). More on Shauna and her mother coming up in future chapters. There's no mention made of Sean until this chapter, and no discussion of his role in the relationship between the sisters, but certain inferences can be made.
Larry doesn't have any inkling of Tamryn's affections for Carter, as evidenced by the fact that Carter is still working for him and alive. Question is, can the same be said for Deborah? And Larry's belief that he won't live to see old age is just him facing the realities of the business he's involved in and the violence and stress that comes with it.

This story IS SO GOOD, not that I'm surprised or anything. Although we're still getting a feel for these characters they're already so wonderfully fleshed out, its just awesome to read. Shauna I gotta say I would never want to run into her anywhere, lol. Most female villains are written to want vengence because some man wronged them, so its rare to read about a woman who is that hard that she would literally take out her own family.
And yeah, Miguel is a con artist and whatnot but I have to admit I felt a little bad for him this chapter just because of the descriptive way you described his pain, and now he's been chopped to pieces to frame Tamryn I suppose, poor fellow.
Tamryn, I like her. She's stuck in an impossible situation where literally her every step is being watched, not just by her sister but by the feds and her father's enemies. It doesn't seem like a charmed existence being able to buy whatever you want because the money is there, when you have to sacrifice your own happiness and basically live in a sheltered bubble where you have to carefully edit every little thing you do and say, and mask your inner feelings about things.
Now come to find out her sister is trying to set her up...it's like how far is Shauna willing to go to get Tamryn out of the picture? And I wouldn't rule out murder, either and I'm glad Tamryn isn't just brushing off that very real fact like her brother and even her dad might.
But the person I would like to come to Tamryn's aid is C, unknown male. Yeah, I'd like Carter to be the one to show up, however, Shauna's goons could still be lurking around and if he were to show up that would spell both of their deaths and the story may just end, lol.
Can't wait for the next chapter!!

i really liked Sean - damn shame that he's locked up. Tam could really need him now. i knew that Shauna was CRAZY(!!!!!!!) but framing Tam and then sending Miguel's head is just.. shocking - lack of better words...!
there was just one thing i was wondering about - Larry's secret related to Shauna was that about him not telling her Carter's answer?
Lastly i vote for C. i really thought about going for Carter. i mean he was ready to come to Tam without thinking about the consequences but then i started thinking about the many possibilities and i couldn't help myself, lol!
plus the unknown man...mmhmm...normally i would guess that the guy turns out to be a potential rival but i wonder... oh well ;) i guess i just have to wait and see - thank you so much for your hard work! Like always - look forward to more! :D

Shauna is out of control, and she is just getting started. Larry's secret related to her was the fact that he's using her to smoke Carter out even though he knows Carter wants nothing to do with her and she has ulterior motives. More on that in upcoming chapters.

Oh gosh! I hope he didn't sex Shauna. Doesn't sound like they've been intimate at all and I hope that's true. (How presumptuous of Shauna to acquire his key and enter his home. Carter needs to set that heffa straight; right now he doesn't appear to be a pushover by allowing daddys witch to rule him...this too I hope is true). Carter was a bit rough with Tamryn but he had to 'sell' their cover. However this is what I'm trippin' off of...Shauna is a complete bitch and I'd Tamryn is truly the apple of their father's eye...the I'm quite sure he wouldn't allow Shauna to assault Tamryn either. Tam needs to stand up to the biotch!
tamryn took a big risk by going to Carter like that...she should've chosen another rendezvous site than Carter's home.
Kudos for not going the girlfriend/wifey route with the female choice of 'who's at the door'. Didn't expect this twist.

I get what you're saying about Hooks not taking too kindly to Shauna assaulting Tamryn. But I think a glimpse into who Tamryn is and who Shauna is becoming in the next chapter might shed some light on why Shauna would be willing and able to hurt Tamryn. Shauna has shown a recent escalation in violence and daddy hasn't been able to rein her in. He would undoubtedly punish Shauna, after the fact, if she harmed Tamryn, but that's only if he finds out. Tamryn is no snitch and has always been one to fight her own battles with her sister rather than taking them to their father. Shauna knows this and seems willing to take full advantage of it. If she gets caught, there's only so much daddy'll do to her because he's a sucker for her too, or so she thinks. More on all that in upcoming chapters. Thanks for reading and reviewing, JV4ME!
