I meant to state the story is nice not the situation. This short makes you wonder what lead to him marrying someone he doesn't love. Why would he resign himself to fate instead of being with the person he wants instead of the one he has to been with..

Why is he carrying one a torrid affair with another when he's about to marry someone else...I'm sorry...but I don't get people like this...who'd willingly deceive another...maybe I'd be more sympathetic if I knew more of their backstory...but I doubt it...and the person he's having an affair with is part of the wedding party...see now, that's low...but anyway...you did a commendable job in conveying these characters' feelings even if I find them less than sympathetic...which I believe was your goal...nice little short...enjoyed reading your work...thanks for sharing...

Okay, I had to re-read this shortie after reading some of the other comments. It seems this tale ain't as sweet as I thought. lol. The writing is definitely sweet, but the groom lusting over another female AIN'T. I totally missed the switch between the 2 women. Dang!
