Just caught up with the last two chapters and I agree, this chapter was very necessary. Holding on to your past and resentment for others who have done you wrong can make you ill. It's very hard to forgive especially the incoceivable crimes they committed against her but I understand WHY she did it. Love her and Tristen and cannot wait for their Parisian life to begin...James deserves happiness.

She kept thinking about Pearl and Trigger and she can focus her attention on more important things that will make her happy in life. loved this update!!! it showed how much James has grown from the first chapter to now and the lucky woman is going to France with (my man!) Tristen...! (it should've been me! XD) but even though James has said her goodbyes to Pearl and Trigger now all of the sudden her Father wants to be in the picture - why? if he knew where James was all this time and had the money (reading between Pearl's lines he seems almost Donald Trump rich!) he could've been there for James a long time ago...! imo the man is little too late!
i have one question for you though - how old is Trigger? other than that look forward to my trip... *cough* i mean James and Tristen's trip to France! and i'm sorry to hear about your netbook that sucked major...! take care and thanks again MJ!

LOL, Cassius! We know that Tristen's is your man and that you are letting James borrow him for a while. Before James did anything, she needed some kind of closure from Pearl and Trigger, but that doesn't mean that another obstacle won't pop up: James' father. But be careful about Pearl's words! You can't always trusts what she says, but she could be right about how cruel James' father is. As for your question about Trigger's age, he's in his early to mid forties. Thanks, Cassius! :)

Pearl’s regret will come at a hefty price but at least her offspring will no longer have to pay the toll, James’ debt was paid a long time ago. Tristen is a happy man! He should be: he has the love of a woman he adores and his precious cargo she carries is a wonderful thing. I'm just feeling a little….mmm…skiddish I guess…scared of the boogieman who’s looming in the background ready to pounce at every turn. As Pearl said, Trigger is out of control. He is so obsessed with James that he will do just about everything and use any trick to get near her. Trigger is a very unstable character with odd reasonings. Trigger was intrigued by James' innocence and he wanted to be the one to corrupt that in more ways than one. He wanted to mold her into something that he could be the only one to control, but she managed to escape after dealing with him for so many years.
This drove him to become more obsessed over her. I hope that answers a question or two. :)

How sad Pearl truly is. To sell her daughter, and herself so cheaply....what a waste. It was always all about her, no matter what she had to do. She let that devil crawl into her life and sacrificed her daughter to him because of what she thought was her due. Like any of that was James' fault. But James had to pay the consequences though. Why the hell does Trigger need this young woman so badly?
Who is her father anyway? He's worse than Trigger? He's dying and now things become clear to him? He just up and left her to whatever fate Pearl, and Trigger saw fit?
What a wonderful, but, oh so sad chapter.

Pearl wanted James to suffer because James reminded her so much of James' father who caused her a lot of pain. Her father will definitely be revealed over time, but he is the least of James' worries at the moment, LOL. But you have to wonder how much Pearl is telling the truth about James' father! Is he really crueler than Trigger, no one knows except Pearl and she isn't very trustworthy as it is. Thank you so much!

I really liked this chapter and it so fit the chapter title of Closure. James has been running from her past that sometimes she let it cloud her happiness with the things/peeps that are right in front of her. Little by little she has grown from a closed off woman to a woman wanting to be loved and to give love in return. The conversation with Pearl was interesting on so many levels because on the one had there is a new player in James' life her father and on the other how can one trust that Pearl is being truthful. Her forgive Pearl and Trigger is the only way James will ever be free and she is now longer waiting for her freedom but taking it.
I loved the scene between Tristen and James because she is following her happiness even though she doesn't know what Paris will bring she is willing to give it a try. James is so about the present and the future now that whatever comes her way will just be another learning block in the ways that have become her life. Now can we get a little "Office Nookie" with a naked Tristen, because I need my menz. LOL Looking forward to the next chapter.

James has definitely grown throughout the last few chapters and this chapter has been a really big leap in development. All she ever wanted was to be loved by Pearl and with such a negative experience with her childhood, it shut her off trying to find love. Then Tristen found her and taught her how to open up. As James said, she still has baggage, but it's still a start for her. James' father will definitely be a player in the future, but for now the story will concentrate on James' adventures in France.

I loved this chapter everyone was enjoying themself then Trigger had to show his trifling ass up.
If I am not mistaken and this is just a guess I wonder if Charles was the one that that bitch that is suppose to be a mother allowed him to take James' virginity @ 14 or was it other times that she sold her own daughter to get what she wanted. Ooooh weee I can't wait til they get their upcomance.

I am glad you decided to go this route though James has gone through a lot in her 22yrs she is strong and a survivor.
I don't think Tristen will leave her hanging hell he raised his sister's child I don't think he would turn his back on his own.
I hope that he can talk James into moving to Paris it will give her a fresh and new start and she can still get her education over there and get her degree in what she wants shoot since she takes online course can't she still attend the same school while in Paris?
The other thing is Tristens family and will the dumbass crew follow and continue to torture her in Paris but they would be on Tristen's truff then so they wouldn't stand a chance in hell would they.

Tristen definitely wouldn't turn his back on his own child. He's been a family man since he was in his teens, he knows what it takes to form a family and keep it together and he is the perfect person to teach James what's it like to be apart of a family and now since they are having a baby, this is her chance to learn. This was definitely an emotional chapter to write because it involved so much James' pain and past, but I thought it was important for everyone to see why James is the way she is. Some habits die hard especially when you've been listening to lies all of your life and you have to distinguish between what is truth and what are lies. She had to look up to Trigger when she was in the game of drug dealing and to an extent, she doesn't trust him and she is depises him, but there is a part of her that struggles to figure out if what things he says is true and what he is lying about. I think naive is a better term for James, LOL. James has definitely grown over the last few chapters, but Tristen is there to give her the extra push she needs to make her understand. I think Tristen getting in her personal space to let her know why he beat the hell out of Trigger and that she was going to France with him with no exceptions was absolutely necessary. Tristen is family-oriented and James is survival-oriented, that is where they differ and that is where Tristen needs to help James become more family-oriented because she never really had a family like he did.
