I needed a historically backdrop as to the way of life of the Bay's black population. Evolving from slavery to emanicipation and the circumstances as to how they had to live their lives...still under British control and at that time very few prospects for different employment.

This story has caught me. At first I wasn't going to give it chance, but I'm glad that I did. Drake and Eliza are so real with their feelings, especially Drake. He's a very damn the consequences type man. The chapters have amazing build up and I am going to suprised as to how everything is resolved. I am hoping for maybe and indepth look at Jonathan *hint hint*. I would love to read a story about his lost lady love and maybe a reunion.
