sad that people in love couldn't be together. they would have to leave the colonies and move to an island were it was more acceptable. or if they stayed he would proably marry and kept her as a household servant and mistress. you are doing a great job with this period piece.

Thanks gh...Yes it is a very sad situation that during those times you couldn't be with the person you loved because of race and class. And if they found a way to be together it meant giving up relationships with friends and family...very...very...very sad. It is good to appreciate some of the freedoms that we are afforded today...Thanks you very much for the compliment!

wow is all I have to say that was intersting. I can't blieve she left but understand when the man you love in the same home and you can't do anything about it. His friends is right is he willing to give up everything to be with the woman he loves or just stay in a whole and marry the other woman. Good story. Glad Drake and Jonathan had their talk. Jonathan's story makes me want him to revisit it and possibly makes some future changes.

Oh, wow Chocolate, what a deep, yet moving chapter. Goodness, it was so hard to see Drake and Eliza being heartbroken and miserable. The heartache was so strong that Eliza had to run away. Oh boy when Drake finds out about that, he's going to lose his mind. Eliza should have slapped that Gloria much harder when she was leaving. But do Eliza actually think that Drake will not come after her?!? Silly girl. I'm so love Jonathan and Drake relationship and was equally surprise to see that Jonathan was in love with a black woman as well. Jonathan let her go, but something tells me that Drake isn't going to do the same thing. Especially after he talked with Jonathan on how he can conviced Eliza that they can be together. Oh, only one chapter to go!! I can't wait to see how this ends. Great as always Chocolate.
