Thank-you Reese. *hugs* Okay first of all, this chapter was great because we are seeing all the battlelines have be drawn about what is going on with everybody thoughts about everything. Alexx, you have every right to me mad at Ryan for how he went behind you back to search for information about Preston, yet she knows how Ryan feels about her and she feels the same way too. She just scared to move forward to Ryan. Ryan, I love you dear, but you got to control that temper of your. But it's so damn sexy!!! Ryan needs to let Alexx deal with Preston first then she can deal with the both of them. I believe everything will work out if he be a little patient. Preston, just when I was going to let him off liek Alexx was going to, he get busted again. Hmm, I wait to see how he get out this one and then I go from there. Great chapter Reese and I can't wait to see the ending to this story.

OMGoodness, Stormy, you enthusiasm is infectious. LOL You hit the nail on the head. In Ryan's mind, this is war, and of course, he has drawn a line in the sand. Or as Alexx said, pissed a line in the sand...around her. LOL
Ryan is a hothead but can't really blame him under the circumstances. However, Alexx isn't exactly being reasonable either. Ryan caught Preston out but Ryan's bad boy persona is doing him no favors in her eyes. Also, her own fears may be playing a part in her actions.
As for Preston, what can I say? Still love him, but he was alsways complicated and rather self-absorbed. That's why I enjoyed him and Cristina together. Like attracting like. LMAO!
The story is almost over. One chapter to go. But there still maybe a little life yet in the saga of Rylexx. Stay tuned.
(I know it's cheesy, but I couldn't resist.)

I'm so glad you are back and writing this again. Every time I watch CSI Miami I can piture Alexx and Ryan together. I think they mak a hot, hot, hot couple.A much better couple than Alexx and Horatio do. Please keep the chapters coming. I love this fic.

Very intense chapter... I'm glad that Ryan let Alexx know how he feels about her, I know she feels the sameway, but she will fight it until the end.... I thought they were going to go at it right there in the kitchen, those two are HAWT together.
Preston sounded like a pure Jackass.... it amazes me that some brothers have no issue dating outside their race, but if a sista does it, they get an attitude, and say the we are "selling out" I love how hypocritical he was with Alexx when he's with a Chinese woman.
Btw... why don't Eric and Ryan get along?

Ryan and Alexx definitely have deep feeling for each other. I'm not sure she's where Ryan is, but then he's had more time to realize what he wants. These are two very passionate people as you've noted although Alexx is a little more straight-laced on the surface than Ryan who just balls to the wall about everything.
My Preston is taking a beating. Yes, I used him to address this very volatile issue and the hypocrisy that abounds concerning it, especially when it comes to black women dating outside their race.
As for Eric and Ryan not getting along. Although they have an uneasy sort of working/frenemy relationship on the show, I feel that they've never really liked each other and will only have each others' backs on the job as is necessary for them to do. Personally, they are too much alike in many ways to be anything other than hostile toward each other as both jocky for position within the CSI team.
Both are assholes and like magnets, they repel each other. Also, I think Eric, even on the show, has a underlyinig jealousy of Ryan's closeness with Horatio. H has used Ryan for several sting operations that Eric didn't know anything about until he had to be told. I noted his displeasure about that. He didn't mind H being closer to Speed, but for Ryan to come in and essentially take Speed's numero uno position doesn't sit well with him.
So this is my take on their relationship.

I'm still loving these people acting like grown ups. Alexx and Preston had good honest talk about what was going on in their lives. I liked the conversation between them about race because it's realistic. They're too educated upper middle class black people. They probably don't meet a lot of people like themselves and it might seem like the normal thing to get together. However, they don't seem to love each other or even like each other truly right now so that might be a problem.
I'm glad Preson admitted he was being hyprocritical in thinking Ryan was a racist. I was firmly against his stereotype of Ryan until Ryan used the word "uppity" to describe Preston. I don't know what to think about him using that word. It dredges up some ugly images and doesn't make me look on Ryan favourablely. If he thinks Preston is uppity then what does he really think of Bryan.

Thanks LB. I love all the points you've made; they are dead on. And I'm really glad to see that someone is calling Ryan out on his statement. It could be nothing but a bit of childish name calling that stems from some inadequacy Ryan feels about himself or his background which is makes the statement more one about socio-economic status than one of racial superiority. However, it could go both ways as you've noted. That means that Ryan, like Preston, is going to have to explain himself at some point

I loved the chapter Reese. I was just mad that the good doctor pulled that tired ass line about Alexx "forgetting about Black men/Ryan is an Irish Bostonian, so he's just using you for sex/ you can't f*ck the white man, but I can and will f*ck everything in a skirt several times over, but not you Black woman. You gotta wait and sit with that dust in your hand and weep and wail for me to return" psychological bullish on her. Made me wanna smack fyah out his ass!!!

you spend all that time cultivating a muture relationship with alexx and her children only to sabotage yourself by confessing your love during a profanity-riddled tantrum. oh, ryan. you must exercise self-control. 
i like janie. ryan and janie's doorway banter was too cute. i'm also glad that she's pulling for ryan. i have a feeling alexx's son bryan isn't going to be so accepting.
preston--good guy? bad guy? with his first appearence, i thought you were leaning towards villain. more than one person remarked about preston coming to miami when the information needed on a case could have been phoned in. i found that suspicious. are you sure he's not responsible for that woman's death? maybe he's trying to get close to alexx so he can have inside info on the investigation. okay, you can see i have marked preston as villain. most likely i am waaay off. 
i love horatio and i'm glad he made another appearance. you really have his character down. the way he looks after his people is spot on. now if you could write in one of his famous one-liner/exits. lol
this was another great chapter and i'm so thrilled that you decided to expand this story. as i said before, there aren't many alexx woods fics around. rylexx fics are pretty much nonexistent. thank you for writing such an engaging story for this character.

Ryan is impulsive and impatient and having a temper (oh those Irish!) isn't helping his case. I think his inner monologue revealed that he knows he messed up.
Isn't Janie a doll? She really has bonded with Ryan and cares about her mother's happiness. Ryan, whatever his reasons in the beginning, has been there for them all, so her take on things is understandable. However, as you've stated, Bry might have another take for all his Ryan love as a friend.
Without giving anything too much away, Preston is human. Things such as biases and prejudices have to be brought out into the open and acknowledged as such before the person haboring them can effectively with the issue(s).
I'm glad you are a H lover. Was worried about him because I know he's too much for some to take. lol But I thought he was necessary. I'm so happy I passed the H litmus test as far as writing him with some accuracy. I love him so it wasn't hard, but good to know I didn't over shoot my goal or under play it too much. I was thinking about giving him one of his cheesy one-liners, but it just didn't seem to fit. Perhaps in the next chapter. We'll see. lol

I don't know what had happen to my review for this chapter, but this chapter was on Fire!! I love that Ryan came to Alexx to get in her face about that hot number in Alexx's office. YOu can really tell that they are made for each other, but Alexx is scared and Ryan is a little to impatient, but I beliee they will work all their feeling out. I have a feeling that the hot kiss will help them along deciding what to do about their issues. LOL. I love Janie. Not to many teenages know how to deal with one of their parents fall in love with someone that is not their father, but I'm gload that she was able to to it and give Ryna her blessings. Okay the Dr. made my head hit. How dare he step up to Alexx about Ryan and her business. And I stress Ryan and HER business. Just when I thought I give the Doc a change...... Love Horatio and Ryan talking to each other. I love you Horatio period because he can be too much at times on CSI Maimi. *grins* THanbks for updating and I can not wait to see what will happen next.

Yes, Preston has a bias, but so do most people so don't give up on him. lol I had to get H and Ryan together. It just wouldn't have been right nor in keeping with the way H looks out for his peeps. So even if they hadn't bumped into each other, the result would have still been the same. And yeah, H is something on the show that's why I used him sparingly because a little H goes a long way. Although I love him and get a kick out of him, some don't. lol

LOL, DR. There is still more going on with the "good" doctor. And yes, things will come to a head in the next chapter. I can't say is revealed but something is. The real question is will it have the expected dombshell impact or will Alexx be less than appreciative on the receiving end?
Preston doesn't necessarily have to be the "villian" in this piece. It could go either way. However, he's human, and we human's have different frailties. So I just thought I'd pass that along.
I appreciate your giving me your opinion. I'm pleasantly surprised that you feel protective of Preston even though he's acted with less than the usual intelligence we expect from his character in this chapter.

Janie is a smart little cookie and wants the best for her Mom and Ryan whom she's really grown to love. As for Preston, he kind of went off his rocker a bit, but he's still a good guy. Glad you liked the kisses and Horatio being on the scene. I know some don't like him and find him abrasive, so I've decided quality over quantity when using him in this story. For myself, I find Horatio's little quirks entertaining, and he's a favorite. I love his relationship with Ryan.

What a situation Alexx has found herself.
I like that there was no beating around the bush with both men. They were upfront about what they wanted from Alexx and weren't about playing games. Yes, Preston only came out with it because Alexx called him out, but he came clean. That is some grown folks type behaviour.
I'm feeling for both men, because they have their flaws and there is a question of who would be good for Alexx, if they would be good at all. Ryan is young, arrogant, and is as Calleigh put it...Ryan. Preston is not even over Cristina and is motives regarding Alexx don't seem to have her best interests at heart. It's an excellent love triangle in the making.

I agree. I think that both men really have laid their cards on the table...face up. lol I'm glad that you appreciate Preston's dilemma. His situation is a bit awkward, but as you said, when he got called out, he responded appropriately. I give him his due for that. And I think in doing so, he showed the level of respect and affection that he has for Alexx.
I'm pleased that the story doesn't seem to be slanted unfairly in either direction. Ryan of course does have an advantage being as in a closer and more hands on (no pun intended lol) relationship. And now it's change again. But is necessary going to prove to be in his favor. That remains to be seen.
I'm glad you mentioned Calleigh. I wasn't sure that I was going to have room for her in the story but really wanted her in it somewhere, doing something. And to me, she was the perfect person to show ambivalence about Alexx and Ryan. Because in the show, even though she and Ryan have a decent working relationship that doesn't mean that she'd look favorably on him having a sexual/romantic relationship with Alexx. Alexx is her friend, and there's always (to me) been this reserve between Calleigh and Ryan. Subtle unlike with Delko's sort of outright hostility, but it exists.
Yes, Cristina maybe a big fly in the ointment. We'll see. It remains to be seen exactly where Preston is in that relationship. That's unclear at this point.
I'm so glad you're likiing the developing triangle. :-) I like both of these men.
