Well, damn, Owen. So, that temper has an air of wounded pride to it. That jab must've stung on more than just a physical level.
I like Hayley, I love Anne and David, Leah is pretty kick-ass and Owen just needs his ass kicked. My Mom would've smacked me for talking to her like that - not that I'm crazy enough to attempt it anyway.
So, I wonder if the real reason that David took her in is because she reminded her of his wife around the eyes or if it was something else. I don't know, but I am eager to find out.
The butterfly tattoo, is that significant? The way she talked (or thought) about when she got it makes me think so. Was it before her parents died that she got it? I'm curious.
I'm liking this story more and more, Owen's lusting made me chuckle, Leah and Hayley's moment made me smile, Leah and Owen's moment made me smirk, and Anne is just a lovely person, David seems pretty cool too. I can't wait for more. ^_^

Interesting beginning. Owen is pretty fiery alright. LOL. How did Leah get to be homeless? How is it a police officer...a white police officer feels compelled to bring a young Black woman to his family?
