I'm VERY late to the party, but I still wanted to add my 2 cents worth.

I truly enjoyed this story because you managed to maintain the 'voices' of Kat and Scotty while letting the reader see just how they could and did fall into love..first with their daughter and then with each other.  You made them romantic without being sentimental--something that would have rung false.

The pacing of their gradual awakening to the fact that they felt more for each other than parental trust, professional respect and personal friendship was spot on.

Well done!

Is there any chance of a short sequel to give us a look into their first 'official' date?

Its time Scotty & Kat to knock it off already! They both want to be with each other but are too afrai to sit down an talk to each other. Kay jumped to some crazy conclusions all because she woke up and scotty wasn't in THEIR BED after the almost kiss. They need to talk because I can see her doing something stupid and setting back all the progress they've made.

I lost my first review so i'm going to try it again..

I'm so glad that Kat was able to show her softer side and accepted him when he showed up without yelling or questioning him.

I believe the turning point in their relationship  came while Scotty was comforting Kat, drying her tears and  rubbing her back. I think they both realize they have stronger feelings for each other but are just to afraid to acknowledge them.

I can't wait to see how they handle going from a platonic relationship to something more To the sexual relationship they both want but are too afraid to admit to themselves and each other. Maybe their precious 2yr old & Veronica can help them see that they belong together as a couple..Rush is doing her part in helping this along..Maybre Vera and his loud mouth can push it a little further along..

I am liking this. Love an insight into Kat that we don't get to see on the show...and it goes with out saying that I love Scotty.

I love him, too, and the more I write Kat, the more I love her.  The show has created this fabulous character and then does nothing with her, which is infuriating, but that means there's more for me to discover when I dig around in her head!

Thank you!  It's a great show, but unfortunately, Kat hardly ever gets story lines.  It's worth checking out, though; the six detectives really play off each other well.  That's what I try to capture when I write them.  And Scotty's delicious.  (Go check out Danny Pino's IMDB page if you want to know what he looks like).
