i've only seen one episode of this show and would hardly consider myself apart of the fandom. but i'm quite taken with your story. i love the flashbacks and the present day scenario in equal meausre and i can't wait until the two synch and see where you will go with the story after that because hopefully you will continue. i'm enjoying it so much! :)

I'm not surprise that Scott walked away the way that he did, and neither should Kay be. I liked how you took him to the bridge and think about Elisa, but come to the inevitable conclusion that Kat was having his baby and that is where is focus needs to be.

No, I don't think anyone's surprised, except possibly Scotty, having gotten such a huge shock. Elisa was a huge part of his life, but you're right, his focus needs to be on the present. I think he'll get there!

Dang Valens, you just walked away?! I know this is sexist but…MEN! They can’t handle the truth! Urgh. That’s all I have to say about that. LOL How clueless was Scotty? What does he do for a living? Lol I’m not gonna rag on him too bad, he’s a very sweet guy with a heart of gold. If I had to get pregnant from a one-night stand, he’d be the only man I’d want to be my baby’s daddy. Actually, I’d want him as my lifetime partner. Miller…don’t let that man slip away.
How’d they work together during her pregnancy? When did the crew find out about their ‘little secret’? More importantly, are they undercover lovers? (Undercover…get it? Police officers…undercover…lovers…? Uh, never mind. Lol)
Please give us more Valens and Miller. I’m ready to meet their adorable pain-in-the-ass.

Well, in his defense, it was quite a shock. Scotty's a detective, yeah, but he's amazingly clueless when it comes to real life. You're right, though, he is a sweetheart, and I have a feeling he'll come around.
More pregnancy flashbacks are ahead, and you'll get to meet the adorable pain-in-the-ass next chapter!

Wow, that was so not the response I thought Scotty would have. I mean to just walk away like that. I don't see Kat taking that well.
Gotta say I do love how clueless Scotty was when Kat was telling him she was pregnant. Hee, I would think pregnancy was the most obvious answer given the clues she was dropping. LOL!
I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Clueless Scotty is so adorable, isn't he? I think this was just so far beyond the realm of possibility in his mind that he a) didn't even consider it, and b) didn't react well. Scotty doesn't seem to be the sort who likes surprises, and this was a big one.
That said, yeah, I don't think Kat's going to like this much. We'll see if they can sort things out in the next chapter.

Great update! Guess what? I have started watching the show and I guess by fate or accident, I saw the episode where Lily got shot. You stated in a earlier chappy that Lily and Scotty's relationship could be something more if looked at in a certain way (paraphrasing here :p). I think it depends on how each indvidual sees it. In that particular eppy, I got that their relationship is more than friendly or casual but not in the sense of something sensual more like family; does that make sense? I don't know but that was only one eppys of a few that I've watched in it's entirety. I like their relationship but I think as soon as it crosses the line into something else then it may get, blah....may not be any more stories to tell. Also, can I just say that I love when he says if you need me just say "Hey", again paraphrasing...I LOVED that. Even though I like Scotty/Lily, I'm loving Scotty/Kat even more and is rooting for that coupling; I just see so much potential there. I'm rambling, can't wait for the next chappy. :-P

Scotty/Lilly is wonderfully ambiguous; it's clearly more than "just friendship," but not exactly romantic, either. Whatever it is, it's definitely less so in s5 and s6, and s6 is when Scotty/Kat kinda takes off.
Oddly, in that episode you watched, there's a scene where Scotty and Kat are at the front doors of PPD and Scotty's wondering where Lilly is (this is right before he goes to her place and finds out about her mother), and that's the scene I had in mind when I wrote this chapter. My beta reader has a wonderful screencap where the expression on Scotty's face could easily be the "did she just say she's pregnant?" face.
Scotty/Kat definitely has lots of potential. Stay tuned...next chapter will be from Kat's perspective.
