That did'nt go the way that I expected it to. Matt's coming off as weak and fickle. I can understand being alittle frighten about his future and his interracial relationship would affect it, but he totally caved. Dosen't say much for his ten year relationship with Taylor.
So Donovan is white too? Couldn't tell from the banner. Don't really have a feel for him a this point. Will have to wait and see.
The story is alittle different from what I expected after reading the summary, but it is interesting. Looking forward to seeing what direction you will take and who gets the girl.

Author's Response: Right, but I don't think he's fickle.  I think he is insecure.  I'm working on trying to make him better. 

I actually like Donovan in this update...still don't want him with Taylor...not getting the romantic vibes from them yet...he wants her...that's a given...the question is...does she want him in the same way...I see her perhaps trying with him...but darn it all to hell...Matt still has her heart...

Taylor just got a double whammy...first...she finds out the real reason why Matt dumped her...then to top it all off...she now realizes she isn't as 'over him' as she had hoped she was...she's in a real dilemma...can she finally say goodbye to the past without regret and embrace the future with someone new...are is her heart tied irrevocably to the past...time will tell...

I ain't even mad @ Tay but I do hope she does not sleep with Donovan b/c it would be for the wrong reasons.  It would be to wipe the pain away of Matt's confession/explantion.

Umm..again...why is everyone hatin' on Donovan? I'm reading trying to find where he's been shady at in word or deed and I just dont see it. Donovan knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about Taylor and Matt's history, nor is he taking advantage of her. From his point of view--and at the time the TRUTH-- he's trying to date a SINGLE woman currently not in a committed relationship. She has never once told him or showed him for that matter, that his advances werent welcome. It would be different if she told him and he then tried to force the issue, but that's hardly the case. She's told him nothing thus far, so he's operating on the assumption that she is free emotionally to pursue a relationship with him if she wishes. 

As far as Donovan knows with Matt, if he like her also, then may the best man win. And like any man, he's trying to make sure that he's the best man.

No...Donovan...go away.  Leave her to her silence.   Well it had to be said.  Glad it was done.  Now he can walk or run knowing that he at least took the time to apologize and explain what he wanted.  It's up to her to make the decision.

I'm glaad that they finally talked. There is more to be said though.

Honestly, Matt didn't really think Taylor would simply shrug, accept his explanation, and forgive him... move on with him?

He basically admitted that he thought his career was more important than her and six weeks before they married he le a stranger convince him that he couldn't have a Black wife?? That would have been in 2001 not 1961 for heaven's sake.

Also, Donovan doesn't win any rave reviews with me either. He's swooping in on Taylor when she's hurt and vulnerable. That's hardly a fair move.

Let's see how far he gets...

I dont blame Taylor for being mad, how do forgive someone that wasnt strong enough to with stand the pressure of excepting someone who claim you love because of there skin color. Great update.

Humm that was a sorry A* excuse,,and sh ei sright..he knew her her whole life and let career and a racist agent tell him she was not good enough..she should be furious!!

There are a few pluses..he never dated or married anyone else..he pined away for her and he sent her flowers and cards but DAMN..he let his career ruin their life together..sad sad sad !!

Now Donovan all up in the grip...he is moving in on her while she is vulnerable..I really dont like him..I know it may not be fair but I just don't like him!!

We will see what happens from here.... 

What did matthew expect her to run in his arms and say yes i understand let be together. I feel for her for years you wonder what happen and then to find out the truth hurts but she need to know. i like donovan there for her but dont wanted him to get his heart broken. thanks for the updated .
