Title: Chapter 1: The End of the Beginning

I'm slow on the uptake, but printed this out and began reading this weekend. So far, as I kinda see where this is going, it reminds me (in a way) of P.S. I Love You. The part with Oliver 'dying' or the hinting that he dies. I'm only about 4 chapters deep and I'm already angsting up for the inevitable. Will I be crying at the end? LOL

Love Lalita and Alex (Tom Welling...hope I'm getting his name right). Love your casting of Joy--she is just flawlessly, efforlessly gorgeous. I promise to comment more once I've finished :)  And I'm must check out the movie, as well ;)

Mmm, Keesha and Jason. I remember them back in the day. She was his first true love, NOT Robin. I hated recently (last year I guess) when they brought Robin back claiming she was Jason's first. Yeah, RIGHT. Jason and his brother AJ pulled a freakin' Paris of Troy over Keesha. They both wanted her and of the two Jason was the one actually in love with her (intially...I think later AJ actually fell for her), but ohhh, the way these soaps whitewash *cough* I mean 're-write' history...just amazes me. :) Loving this so far! Love the banter between Keesha and Sonny and Jason (hubba hubba) ;)

Thank you so much for your review. It's really hard to get over the way they treated her which is probably why I still haven't. I also hated the way they re-wrote the entire history as Robin being his first. it makes me wonder if Keesha had Jason's child would Robin still be considered his first. That's one of the main reason I got into fanfics:)

Lexie’s lips parted as her ass slid across the wood floor, each stroke sending a shock of pleasure through her body.

Reminds me of a scene in a movie called [i]The Lover[/i] where dude boinked the girl so hard he damn near moved them both across the room, one large scoot (thrust) at a time. This was heady and damn sexy and again, I'm so jealous of Lexie.

Pray tell, what happened to Philip's leg? I'm not 100% versed on DOOL's history. :)

I've seen that movie too, I totally forgot about that scene. It was pretty great too. Hell I'm jealous of her too, and I'm writing the damn thing.

Philip lost his leg while serving in Iraq, he was in the military for a while on the show. It's definately going to come up in later chapters in the story too.

I need some water after that. Some water and a fan would do nicely. To be f*cked for HOURS? Oh Lexie, I'm so jealous of you. This was absolutely delicious. Philip is...the dude is just, his stamina! I mean, what else can be said right? And the part of the chapter where he anticipated going 'there' with her? Know what I'm talking about? Nearly DIED after reading that, thinking, hoping that it would happen. Lexie most likely wouldn't be able to walk...FOR A WEEK; maybe two if he'd gone 'there'. *sigh* This is so delicious and so sexy; I love it! Update soon!

I love this. Again, you have slain me with the sex. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I loved how she came to the realization of mistakes made in her marriage, Abe will never change but I have, I don't want this anymore, I want that sexy young buck who wants nothing more than to make me feel good 24/7. LOL. Awesomeness all around. The dialogue is excellent and on point. I've viewed some 'Days' in my days ;) and I can hear Lexie, I can hear Abe; Philip's new to me, so I can't gauge his voice...still doesn't matter, your characterizations are always on point, thoughtful and authentic in your delivery of them. Thanks for sharing this. And I'm still jealous of Lexie, getting the good dong on the regular! LOL

This is from CSI Miami. It's is the best kind of crack out there. It doesn't take itself seriously (unlike Vegas) and I love them for it. Horatio is cheesy as all hell and everyone else is messed up in a fun sort of way.

I don't know if I have anmore CSI fic in me. The only other one I've wanted to write is about Horatio and a minor character from early on in the series.

Mal saw her relief and swallowed hard; here's where it gets tricky, Mal thought, "'Nara, you ain't all wrong. Zoe n' me...I never seen her as a woman until Wash came on crew. Oh yeah I mean I know she's a stunner and she'd had men 'fore that, sure. Same as me, but all that pretty much was 'fore the war got done. Since then we've had each other's back; what we lived through, what was done to us left little room for anyone else or each other. Wash came in and messed that around. Wash made me look at Zoe as a woman. I felt the fool, havin' looked past her all this time. And selfish, too. Coulda been somethin' there. So when they said they was gettin' married I...."

Wonderful! You know all these thoughts ring true; the character I'm sure went through these emotions when Zoe informed him she and Wash would marry. And there's an episode where both Zoe and Mal 'play' Wash, that I thought was cute and revealing, but at the same time didn't 'really' get into how Mal really felt. It was left up to the audience to assume. But this is perfect. You capture the language so well. I love this! And I look forward to more ;)

Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4:Tell Them I Ain't Comin' Back

Zoe's heart had been opened and broken by Mal's confession, Wash's love and audacity, the weight of her own grief and in the very background a vibrating thread she knew had something to do with Mal and Inara's longing. She framed his face with her hands, acting on impulse, and kissed him full on the mouth. She felt his startled reaction and held him to her as he seemed to war with himself, then surrender to her. She inclined her head and parted her lips, encouraging him to do the same by offering her tongue to him. The kiss was electric, full of possibility, remorse and solace. There was the deep friendship pushed aside by something that would have been passion in another time. There was grief, that wondered what she was doing following this path when her husband was still circling around her from some unknown where and likely kicking himself for putting this all into Mal's head. There was the admission that she had been fully set on getting herself killed one way or another, a cowards path she knew now she would not tread. Not after the guts it took this man, her brother and friend, to drag out such complicated love and lay it at her feet.

Awwww...Madame Z, thank you so much.  I also like this paragraph and particularly the notion of having Mal drag out complicated love and lay it at Zoe's feet, like something heavy, tangible, intricate and yet ephemeral -- something that maybe should not have seen the light of day.  But heck, Wash shouldn't have died...

Summary:

Author's Response: OH RIP Black Donnellys you have made my night with this comment, I am extremely flattered that you would make that comparison.  Yeah one of things that fascinates me about Chicago is how it is this city of neighborhoods each with it's only personality and flavor, so I really wanted to capture that gritty feel of Bridgeport which is a mostly Irish, quitessential Chicago neighborhood.
