Summary:

Lay Me Down

 

Life is hard. James knows this for a fact in which she picked a bad time to quit smoking. Working long days as a housekeeper and taking online college classes just adds more stress. With a troubled childhood and a dark past looming over her shoulder, James is untrusting of others therefore lets very few people into her life.

That is until she stumbles -- literally -- into Tristen, a computer software engineer who won't take 'no' for an answer. He's different, kind, and fun. And French. He wants to get to know her, but will her past drive him away like the others and if he does stay, can he endure damage of her skeletons tumbling out of the closet?

Title: Chapter 2: Life is hard

I love her personality! It's probably because I have many friends with the same type of humor but either way, I really like James and I find it very refreshing that she wasn't blown away by him in the sense that her first impression wasn't that he looked like a supermodel- even if he does. It makes the story more realistic. I mean you don't pass every guy who's gorgeous and go 'that's my soulmate'.

Title: Chapter 5: Lesson Learned

All I can say is 'wow'. I am really getting emotionally attached to your characters and the drama seems realistic and not overdone. Your development of the main character and her parents are very well done. I can't wait to learn more about Tristen! Great job!
