They are both wrong, though. Laila should have let Maria have a few minutes wih Jade on the playground before telling her to contact Jamison to schedule something. Laila did over-step letting her in the house, lack of info or not.
Jamison should not compare giving second chances to an absentee mother to doing so with an abusive ex-husband. They are no way the same. That was a bit of a low blow for him, upset or not.
And what was with that attempted insult that Maria tossed at Laila. Not all actress-types are flakes or disfunctional just as all women are not mother material. She has nerves.

I know that a committed relationship does not end your life of freedom, but going to a club late night with another man may not have been a good move for Laila... especially while there was a disagreement brewing between her and Jameson.
Of course, he reacted accordingly. Laila needs to open the discussion and start by apologizing for butting her nose way into Jameson's business regarding Jade.
I really do hope that the alcohol doesn't talk for her.

LOL. I was just reading some of the reviews left by the ladies and, well, whew, my girl Sasha just ain't getting any love right now.
Anonymous wanted to "high five" dickhead Allen for the royal, first class, five star screw over of the year. Thunderkat wanted to reach into the computer and bitch-slap drunk ass Sasha for adding super dumb ass to her list of accomplishments. And someone else was so disgusted she had trouble finishing reading the scene.
First, I second everything the other reviewers wrote. Girlfriend has talent, brains for days, but lacks insight and forethought. And why Allen? From what I've seen so far, the jackass doesn't have a thimble of redeeming value.
As my mama is famous for claiming, Sasha lacks self-esteem!! I hope to see her working on that after she clears herself of the righteous indignant rant she's about to explode into, takes a breath and a break, and regroups.
And two thumbs up for the person who suggested that Toukie is "up to something." To the music of the old Aretha song, "Who's zoomin' who?"... Who's screwing who?" Smugbutt Allen is sooo not in control of that dick-action.
Second but definitely most importantly, this is some brilliant writing to provoke such strong emotions over a character I'm sure we all basically like... will like... ah, hope to like?

Wow!! I found this story, started reading, and didn't stop until the end of chapter five. What a great story.
From the beginning, Abe's baby was a miracle, left behind by his beloved wife so that he wouldn't be alone. What a sad, sad life it was too. Salomi has such spirit, smarts, and sass. Sometimes a little too much. Abe is simple and naive in his unsophistication. I fear that it will be his undoing. What a way to make a better living for yourself and your daughter.
This story has a smooth, easy flow in telling the tale of lives lived in such a simple depressing time.
I'm hooked. I don't know where your storytelling is taking us, but I'll be alone for the ride.
Tristan Danes is young, good-looking, and unemployed without a reasonably useable degree.His life gets turned upside down with the death of his grandmother and the inheritance of her small New York based coffee shop along with the mountains of debt that came with it.
Kira Moore just graduated from Boston University with a Biology degree. Her life looked good so far with the exceptions of a troubled law breaking sister and the inability to find a job. So what do these two have in common, besides 11 years of friendship they're technically married, well only technically.
I don't remember this from before, but I'm enjoying reading it this time around.

What a nice story of opposites attracting!!
As far as couples go, Mackenzie and Scott seem mis-matched on the surface. However, they not only sizzle but seem to compliment and add new dimensions to each other.
For a minute I wondered if they were going to let public (office) opinion temper their budding relationship... or the awkward family meetings. I'm glad they didn't.
I can't wait to read more about their visit with MacKenzie's family.

Okay, I'm big on chemistry myself. How-ev-er, Jamison was damn-near perfect on all the points. I deducted for too much of a "yes" man. I like a little protest, panic sweating, a few "hell, no, woman!" now and again.
Instead D falls for Mario the pseudo-friend. He moved in on another man's woman, a friend, no less, then tried to screw her in the dude's home... kitchen then bed?? Nah. And he strips for money and thrills? Hell, nah. No redeaming qualities there.
A one shot? "Lucie, you gots som 'splainin' to do!!" ;)
Seriously, I enjoyed it as a one shot, but there is great potential if you decide to expand it. Also, you do a very nice job of background and character development weaving it through your story-telling.
I see potential to explore why D is unfulfilled by what most women would give their eye teeth to have in a man. And Jamison needs a good woman. Poor baby.

Sammy and Farrah are back!!
What an update!!
Sammy is busy carefully trying to express his interest in an already skittish Farrah who is also inerested but hesiant, her past hurt still a bit close to the surface, when...BAM!! Hurricane Jessyca blows in, raining on their parade and catapulting all promising chances of a Sammy, Farrah, and Jalin straight to hell.
WTH is wrong with that woman? Why is she such a super bitch? And how the hell is Jalin HER baby when I believe I remember that part of the rift between Jessyca and Pat was that Pa supported Farrah having and keeping her baby while Jessyca wanted her daughter to get rid of him.
Now she is concerned responsible grandma and Farrah is a careless bad mother? Farrah needs to not rely on her sister to slap their mother into line. She needs to grow a backbone and learn to fight her own battles. Hopefully, Sammy was neither impressed nor deterred by the police drama and mean-ass Jess and will stick it out with Farrah. He is really so good with mother and son.

Great chapter!!
We learned more about Sammy and what he's looking for. He is a wise man to get his business going and hold out for the "right" woman and not just someone convenient for the order of his life and future. I also like that he has not been deterred by Jalin. Yes, Jalin will be Sammy's key to Farrah's heart, an aspect that more women should give greater importance in choosing a partner.
But is he holding out on telling Farrah that HE IS THE BOSS, because of what happened to his brother or he just hasn't really goten around to it? Or???
Oh good gracious, so planning and running her children's lives has not gone very well for Jessyca. Well, it's about to get even tougher. LOL.
I can't wait for the BBQ and the "meet the folks." I'm glad Farrah decided to go. Personally, I woulda caved to the horror of meeting so many relatives all at once!!
But like most family get togethers, I have a feeling that the drama will be as good as the BBQ. Can't wait to read more!! ;)

Yes...everything in Farrah's life revolves around Jalin. She fears Jessyca...you'll see more of that. Sammy and Jalin are fast buddies...and that comforts her. She hasn't dated, really hadn't planned on it. More to come on that regard as well...

Barbecue will be coming of course in the next chapter...getting her through that...and then it will roll out.

Wow, Sparks, this update was more than worth the wait!!!
It was nice and long, chock full of lots of really good stuff. If I didn't love Sammy before as the gorgeous good guy he is and baby Jalin's new best buddy, I'd love him for his big warm very kind embracing family.
So far everyone sees potential for a bit more than "just friends" between Sammy and Farrah. It is too soon with her not knowing him well or long and still dealing with her heartbreak over Jalin's birth father. But they do like each other.
The reunion between Farrah and Pat was really sweet. The rift between Jessyca and Pat should not have affected Farrah like that. I wonder what Jessyca's reaction will be when she finds out that Pat is visiting and had a reunion wih Farrah??? She's got to feel pangs of jealousy on top of the isolation and lonliness. See was way frantic calling all her kids wih no results. they're grown now. Empty nest syndrome is doing a number on her!
Gia is such a talented hostess and handler that even Aviree was nice and civil. LOL. I'm glad everyone welcomed and accepted Farrah and Jalin. Mia set the tone for the entire gathering.
I love way of delving into your characters and building relationships slowly despite any initial attraction. Lots of lustin' before the lovin'.
