Great prologue...I love Regency romances too...love the time period where gentlemen and ladies were the rule rather than the exception...

Seems Lord Farthington was a generous father to Mary Caroline...she seems a woman of high pedigree...like her father said...her life should be one of a lady but alas...the color of her skin makes her standing in those times...precarious and uncertain...this is a very interesting set up to this story and I look forward to reading more...you've captured the language of the period perfectly...I think I will enjoy reading this story...thanks for sharing...

I really like this story...wonder why Matt called the engagement off...sounds like Taylor is far from over him...the man put her in therapy for goodness sake...this was a fine start...

Matt is being a bit selfish IMHO...he's realized his mistake...realized that he left a good woman for a foolish reason...now he's trying to manipulate his way back into her life...does he not understand what he put her through...right now he seems to be concerned with only his feelings and what he wants...what about what Taylor needs...he did a number on her heart...it's quite unreasonable to assume that she'd be anything but frosty considering how he hurt her and probably humiliated her in front of her family and friends...

He seems sincere...but I don't want Taylor to make this easy for him...because how can she truly trust him with her heart again...she's still in such a fragile state...I hope he eases up on her and give her the time she needs...

I'm really enjoying this story...keep it up...off to the next chappie...

I hope Matt doesn't try to use her obvious physical attraction and weakness for him against her...more than anything...Taylor needs time...and a darn good explanation...is he willing to give her that...can he explain to her why he dropped her like so much unwanted trash...can he man up and reveal to her how he allowed some stranger's biased predjudices interfere with their happiness and future...

Don't get me wrong...I want them to get back together eventually because I get the feeling they really do belong together...BUT he's messed up big time...he let her down in the worst possible way and destroyed the fabric of her trust in him and love...now he wants her to give him a way back in...that's a tall order for breaking someone's heart so callously and needlessly...

I'm already anticipating the next update...this is getting good...more, more, please...

I love that you introduced the Donovan character in this story...but IMHO...he came off a bit too forward with Taylor...she's his newly signed agent and I really don't think business and pleasure should blur under these circumstances...also...she's just not feeling him like he's feeling her...though that could change...could be interesting...and present a conflict of interest as far as her being his agent...

Glad JC talked some sense into Matt...if he would have set it off in the club...he would have not only embarrassed Taylor and himself and possibly caused the firm to lose Donovan's business...he would have pushed her even further away...the caveman tactics will not help in this situation at all...neither will being hostile to her and acting like a jealous butthead endear him to her...he has to keep reminding himself that she isn't 'his' anymore...he forfeited that right to think of her that way when he walked away from her...Matt needs to take it slow...and develop a friendly relationship with Taylor first...slowly remind her of the reasons why she fell in love with him in the first place...he also needs to stop trying to manipulate situations in order to break down her defenses...he put those walls there...and he has to be smart if he wants them to crumble...Taylor also believe that Matt doesn't want her...he better disspell that notion quickly...

I'm really loving this story and I got so excited when you put up two updates in one day...I'm trying to be patient with the updates...but this one is getting very interesting...looking forward to more soon...keep up the good work...

Glad Matt has decided to come clean with Taylor and finally tell her the whole truth of why he broke off their engagement in all of it's unsavory and gory details...her reaction to this bit of information will be very telling indeed...and it has been a long time coming...

The break-up scene was so heart-wrenching and it would be so easy to say that I wouldn't ever want Taylor to give him the time of day again...but that's not what I want...I want to see this man's journey back to making himself worthy of her love, trust, respect, and heart again...I don't want him playing 'let's make her jealous' games with her...he has no right to be jealous...the most he should expect from her is civility and maybe eventually a friendship...he hurt her badly...and even though he now realizes his 'mistake'...there is really no way to sugar-coat what he did...he compromised his love for her by refusing to acknowledge publicly a basic part of her...her skin color...something she has no control of or reason to be ashamed of...when you really love someone...you love ALL of them...and you are not ashamed to have them at your side...no matter what...this should not be an easy or comfortable journey for him...and he should not expect forgiveness or a happy ending...if he truly loves her...then he will have to show it...not by words (they're easy)...but by deed...

Though Taylor is now beginning to have real feelings for Donovan...I really don't think she's as 'over' Matt as she likes to believe...if 'they' were truly buried at the mock 'funeral' of her relationship with him...then why would she be even remotely 'curious' as to why he dumped her...and I believe she would have at least attempted being intimate with another man in those long eight years since her heart was crushed...I believe the lady doth protest too much...at least I'm hoping...

I know by now I should be rooting for Donovan...he seems like a really great guy...but call me an incurable romantic...but I want Taylor and Matt to have their second chance at love...they are both much more mature than they were before... and I still think they are in love with each other...but...if Taylor decides to move on with Donovan...then Matt shouldn't be upset...regretful...but not upset because he set the ball in motion...and if he truly loves her...he would want her to be happy...even if it's not with him...but I still want them together...

This was a great update...you just keep upping the ante in this baby...but I'm still rooting for my misguided Matt...though I do get a sort of perverse pleasure in his misery...more, more, more please!!!!

I actually like Donovan in this update...still don't want him with Taylor...not getting the romantic vibes from them yet...he wants her...that's a given...the question is...does she want him in the same way...I see her perhaps trying with him...but darn it all to hell...Matt still has her heart...

Taylor just got a double whammy...first...she finds out the real reason why Matt dumped her...then to top it all off...she now realizes she isn't as 'over him' as she had hoped she was...she's in a real dilemma...can she finally say goodbye to the past without regret and embrace the future with someone new...are is her heart tied irrevocably to the past...time will tell...

He's lain his cards and his heart on the table...hung all out to sundry...and in the most public way possible...Taylor's weakening...I know how maddening that can be...but the big doofus has her heart...now he's got her whole family and her friends calling...demanding...now what is she going to do...

Even Donovan knows the deal...how much longer...and how much faster can Taylor keep running before she has to face her heart...and Matt...

Love this story...already in need of another 'fix'...um, I mean update...great story!!!

The wait was well worth the effort...loved the update...seems Taylor and Matt are finally back on the right track...but I love how she never lets him forget he screwed up...it keeps him honest...glad the no fraternization clause was dealt without too much hassle...Matt's got a new career and his woman back...now I'm ready for a hot reunion between those two...

Taylor's mom seems skeptical of Matt...and with good reason...this is something that cannot be easily fixed...her trust in him was shattered once upon a time and Matt needs to show great patience to earn it back...he has her heart...but her trust is another animal...baby steps, Matt would be my advice...she's taking a big risk to trust him with her heart again...and he has no room to take anything for granted where her love and trust is concerned...hope everything works out for them...

Miguel gave me the creepiest feeling...hope Taylor doesn't find herself in a compromising position with him...he seems shady...maybe it would be better to delegate his case to someone else...wonder what kind of 'trouble' he got into with that girl...he's getting desperate...and that's when a person becomes their most dangerous...

Looking forward to more from this story...though I'm already getting sad that it will soon be over...glad you're making this a first in a series...I love your writing style and your characters...

OMG...OH NO...NO...NO...this is a nightmare...Miguel and Eduardo trying to rape Taylor and Matt coming in to the rescue only to be gravely hurt...those bastids...I hope they put them both under the jail for this...oh, please, don't let Matt die...Taylor would not survive this...oh please, update soon...Dsmoothone...you've ramped this story into high gear...can't wait to see what happens next...

Yay!!! Taylor and Matt are going to have a baby!!!

Poor Taylor...she still hasn't put one and one together and made three...guess with all the excitement of Matt being shot and the whole deal with Miguel Vargas and Angela and Keith's wedding...it totally slipped her mind...are those wedding bells I'm hearing chiming in the distance...the Oprah interview was cute...and Matt left no doubt how much he loves his Princess...can't wait to read what's next for these two...love this story...

Allen is such a snake...I knew he had something underhanded up his sleeve...plied her with drink and had his way with her...while stealing her research right under her nose...Sasha...I can understand having a moment of weakness when add have horniness, lust, and alcohol in the mix...the cobra is about to strike as we speak...now she's so screwed...she can just about kiss that partnership goodbye...as if she really had a chance considering all those chavinistic arses inhabiting the 'Ivory Tower'...

Did I read correctly that Pavlov aka Paulie is having himself a little immigration problem...possibly in need of an American wife...and he and Sasha are on a collision course...to well...I can't wait to find out...
