This story has caught my attention, but that "real black woman" statement is very telling. As a "real black woman" who just happens to be multicultral I can't stand when we judge each other like this.
You are not the first person who has felt this way so I feel the need to point out that it is a character in my story who said these words--a fictional white woman--and they are not indicative of how I feel about black/multicultural women myself. It is dialog, simply an extension of a character in my story, in this case Janelle.

Oh how she would suffer the girl who was nothing but a twinkling star, and he knew just as good as anyone that stars were never meant to stay. They were destined to fall and look beautiful as there innocence fades away.
just how old is carla, from her actions and way of speaking I am guessing no older than 14.
