Charlie took some of Jared's words to heart. Jared had a very interesting perspective regarding their growing up years. It always fascinates me how two people can experience the same events and come away with different perceptions of what happened. Reality is subjective.

But there is no doubt that Charles, Sr is a bastid. Devoid of any human decency whatsoever. Makes me wonder why the hell Valerie hasn't divorced his no account butt.

The operative is is intention. Will Mari be able to leave him? I'm on pins and needles. His method of persuasion was, ahem, shall we say, very convincing. I don't see how she can leave all of that. I have to read this again. Bear is a real quick study.

Oh yeah, I definitely like it. And I REALLY like Mikhail. There's just something about that man. And if he's not the love interest, I'm putting a bid in for him to get his own story. Yeah, I like him that much. :)

I knew Henny was going to react that way. She's running on emotions and intense ones at that. Her reactions are that of a young child and undrestandable. No matter how old she is, she is still Vanessa's CHILD and dealing with past hurt as a CHILD. Hence the child-like reactions. Yeah, Henry and Vanessa probably should've taken things more slowly. But the reality is, they didn't. A baby is on the way and they want to be together. They shouldn't have to wait until everyone around them comes around before they do what they feel they need to do. Either folks except Henry and Vanessa's decisions or they don't. Henny will have to deal with it on her own terms and in her own time. The same way that her mother and father have to deal with things on their own terms and time. It's not all about Vanessa and Henry and it's not all about Henny, either. They're all being a bit self-involved. But that's normal.

Anyhoo, I really enjoyed this chapter. Looking forward to whether Henny will realize that her mother can love her and her father and the new baby. Henny has been spoiled by having her mother all to herself for twenty some odd years and now she'll have to share. That's really hard to do.
