Having experienced the Klan up close and personal like. Coming from my neck of the woods, it was more an anomaly that the white person DIDN'T belong to the Klan. So, yeah.
It says a lot about who Branny is that he still feels guilt. He's a much better person than the rest of those yahoos that he was around. He needs to forgive himself.

There's no telling when they'll make it back home or if they ever will make it back home for that matter. One thing is for sure they're going to have to learn how to get along their survival is depending on it.
Yes, kids sometimes think they control events and are responsible for when something goes wrong. I hope Anika comes to the realization that she's not to blame for her parents' death. And what about Hunter, when he sees her for the first time, will he be insensitive as he's used to women with "perfect" bodies? He can learn a helluva lot from Anika. And I hope he teaches her a thing or two as well. He is quite blunt, but I like that trait in him. The rest, not so much. But here's hoping he learns to be a human being at some point. I know, it'll be a slow process, reaaalll slow.

That right there says it all to me. It really ticked me off.
So, no mention of Corrine working, so the money is coming from Sterling, right? So, anything Hunter got was from Sterling's pocket and he was too chickenshit to put his foot down and say hell to the naw. That was to Hunter's detriment.
You best believe that Hunter saw how Corrine treated his father, with very little respect, actually. So, why should he listen to his Dad? Sterling allowed his son to turn out like he has. I'm just surprised that he was such a wuss. Yeah, Corrine is the main issue, but Sterling shares a big portion of the blame for letting this shit go down that way. That has not helped Hunter become a fully formed mature human in the least.

That MIRACLE I mentioned above will have a name and that name will be Anika Gabrielle Wallace. Cause, right now, Hunter makes me want to put my hands around his neck and squeeze, slowly.
