I do not like Lance or his paid whore, not wife. I love how she checked her too, scary trick. How dare you throw a woman's miscarriages in her face?! It says a lot about your character and you deserve a monster like Lance. I'm glad that all her hard work is paying off. I think she needs to hire someone to help her manage all that stuff though, she needs to enjoy the fruits of her labor. She's worked her entire adult life, now it's time to enjoy it now. You deserve to. Those pictures of her restraurant are beautiful!!

I really like this. It is completely different from what is mostly on this board. An older woman who is fresh out of a divorce to an asshole I must say. I'm for it!! Lance is truly a butt. It is not her fault that your son was stillborn, I despise men who blame the mother for that (is she isn't actually doing anything). That girl is old enough to be his daughter, freaking perv. I hope she takes him for everything he owns. I know that Sugh is going to be successful, she has nothing to lose. Lory is a fool already. I love how hard Roc went for her sister, I'm the same way about my family.

I'm loving this so far. I like Sugar and the fact she is somewhat older makes her more relatable. Her Ex is trash, but her leading man is georgous. I can't wait until he turns ups. Will it be love at first sight or opposite attract...hmmmm.

This was an interesting chapter.
Lance and his concubine took time out of their day to come and needle Sugar. Are their lives so bereft of any joy that this is how they get some in it? Sugar handled that just right. Lance and the concu are really quite ugly inside of their so called "handsome/beautiful" wrappers. They are quite superficial and prolly think that they are "winning". But why does it matter to them? Do they sit around being consumed by Sugar?
Sugar is living her life (businesswise) and exacting revenge on those two fools in the process, 'cause it's obvious that they are burning with resentment. Sugar can't afford to harbour hate against these two. It hurts her more than it would hurt them if she does. I'm liking Sugar ever so much. She's said, "get thee behind me satan" to that lance person and kicked dust in his face. I understand Sugar and giving her a slow clap for handling her business. She just needs a little more "life" in her personal life. Chef, can't wait until you get there. I'm thinking Chef is going to show her what "life" is all about. She hasn't had one since she married that stoopid fool and so young.

Mallory sounds like the brother who'd have your back in a brawl but you still want to strangle him at home. And I understand the stress that Sugar's under getting her business going. I'm building my own at the moment and I do wonder if I've lost my mind. Still, I can't imagine doing anything else.

As someone who is closer to 40 than 20 (Okay, I'm 31), I truly appreciated lead characters that are older. That being said, Chef is hoooooooot. I need him, or someone like him, in my life. An older man with silver hair AND tattoos is my weakness. I want to jump through my computer and let him have his wicked way with me. Maybe I can find someone like him when I go on vacation in a few weeks.
Anyway, good for Sugar for going after what she wants. That ex of hers is going to get his. It was like the situation my friend was telling me about her ex husband today. I already love her siter. I cannot wait for the next update. I know it's almost back to school time for you, unfortunately me too, so pleeeeeeeeease update before then. I can/need to be able to reread this story and your others over and over again during my "lunch" break. Great job!!
