It was about two months since Jason left the hospital after his second life altering accident. Monica and AJ were the only ones who new about him getting back his memory. Every night since then Jason would ride for miles around Port Charles on his bike with thoughts about his life before twenty-three. He thought about the family and friends he unwillingly abandoned due to his first life altering accident; his love for AJ, Alan, Keesha, everyone. He tried to figure out how does one fix their past in order to live for the future that was destined you? Where does one start? He carefully deliberated his priorities and decided he had to find Keesha. He informed Sonny he would be taking some time off for personal reasons. Sonny allowed him the time but made the point of telling him to hurry up with his personal issues so he could get back to work.

Jason found Keesha's apartment located at One Central Park West in New York City. It wasn’t too hard to find considering Monica gave him perfect directions. She told him Keesha was in a serious relationship but she wasn't married. That was good enough for him. It had been two years since he last saw her. As he sat on her steps rehearsing his script over and over in his head of what he would say to her, he looked up to see her walkitong wards him.

Keesha parked her Hummer and began walking across the street to her apartment building. She stopped on a dime when she realized Jason was sitting on her stoop. He shot up as he saw her approaching. They stood there for a while in silence, taking in the sight of each other.

"Keesha! I was going to call but I didn’t know where to start. So I decided to drive down here instead." Keesha was struggling to hold onto her shopping bags when Jason stepped forward and took hold of a few. "My mom gave me your info. She said she didn't think you would mind, but if you do you can blame her not me." Jason smiled nervously and held his breath as he waited for her to counter.

Keesha cleared her mind of the trance that Jason briefly held on her. Did he just make a joke and did he just say his mom? "Jason! this is a huge surprise. Is everything okay?" Her voice was soft spoken and slightly filled with concerned.

"Every thing is fine Keesha really. I just wanted to know if I could talk to you about something."  With the utmost curiosity Keesha kindly agreed and they entered her apartment. It was a huge two-story loft with wooden floors and a magnificent view of Central Park. It suited her perfectly. He remembered his mother saying how breathtakingly beautiful the view from her apartment was. Keesha had kept in touch with all of the Quartermaines especially Emily and Monica whom she considered her sister and her second mother.

"You can just throw those over there." She placed her things on the couch as Jason did the same. She picked up her phone to check her messages. "Have a seat Jason. Just give me a minute please."

Keesha disappeared upstairs as Jason took in the whole decor of her place. He walked over and took in the breathtaking view of Central Park. Keesha came back down in a white fitted t-shirt and baggy Khaki drawstring pants. She studied Jason as he stood by the window. In her wildest dreams she would have never imagined Jason Morgan staring out her living room window.  Walking over to the couch she placed the bags on the floor. Jason turned around and asked if he could help. Keesha waved him off and offered him a seat again. "So what did you want to talk to me about, Jason."

Everything Jason rehearsed went out the window. His mind was truly blank for what seem like an eternity. He was nervous again. The whole script was lost in his mind and the only word that escaped his lips was “Us”.

Okay by AshAli

“Us who?” Okay that sounded dense but that’s all she had at the moment. Clearly she wasn’t going to jump to any conclusions because this was Jason Morgan and his version of ‘us’ would be something of an alien meaning to her. “ I’m sorry Jason what do you mean by that?”

He wanted to reach out and touch her, hold her. As he sat on her sofa waiting to for the words to escape, he instantly remembered the day she became friends with Jason Morgan.

He wasn’t sure who initiated the greetings. At first it was just an occasional ‘hey’ or ‘how are you’. He held the door open for her at Kelly’s. She said ‘Thank you’ he responded ‘No problem’. Just little things until he stopped her as she was headed into Justus’ penthouse.

“Hey, you have a minute?”

“A minute for what?” She was getting defensive, which was her usual reaction to anything Morgan.

“I want to talk to you about the way I reacted to you after my accident.”

“Out of the blue? Just like that Jason? Oh and I consider the way you treated me more than a reaction.” Keesha privately looked forward to today in hopes of finding some type of conclusion to their circumstance. She really didn’t want to be alone with Jason considering what happened the last time they were alone together but she calmed her nerves and allowed him inside.

“Can I get you anything?”

“No. Keesha I need you to understand something. All those things I said and did to you, if I could take it back I would. I know your grandmother past away the same time Jason Quartemaine did.”

“After all you’ve put me through a year later you decide to take it all back?” He could tell she was doing everything in her power to keep her tears from falling.

“Keesha you expected me to remember you when you knew if was impossible for me to do so.”

“Okay let’s talk about what you expected Jason. I didn’t lose my memories of you but you expected me to act as if I had. I was in love with you for two years Jason. We were in love. You slip into a coma for three weeks and I’m suppose to do what, fall out of love with you because you didn’t remember me? Did you honestly think it would be that easy for me to forget?”

“Did you honestly think it would be that easy for me to remember?”

Yes she did. She thought he would one day snap out of it and want to remember her. “Why were you such a bitch to me Jason?”

“Is that what I was to you, a bitch?”

“Well screaming at me every time I tried to speak to you, throwing me off of you and flipping over a table at Luke’s because I touched you definitely qualifies you as a bitch.”

“Keesha I didn’t want to be loved or touched by you or anyone and I was trying to make you see that. That was the only way I knew how to react to you or anyone.”

“Not anyone Jason, just me.”

“You believe that?”

“Well I don’t remember you throwing a tantrum when Robin was at your bedside or when she was busy touching you.”

“She never expected anything from me Keesha.”

“Oh yes she did Jason. But I’ll leave that conversation for another day.”

“I guess I was worst to you because you wouldn’t back down. And I didn’t know any other way to tell you I didn’t want to be Jason Quartermaine anymore. I was confused about a lot of things and time gave me the chance to sort those things out. I see the way that I treated you was cruel and insensitive and I’m Sorry.”

And here he was hoping she would want to be friends...more than friends with Jason Quartermaine. “Like I said before, my mom gave me your address considering you forgot to leave it with me before you left Port Charles.”

“Well you knew I was leaving. If you wanted it that badly, you should have asked.” She crossed her legs and made herself comfortable. “Okay Jason, let’s talk about us.”

He had memorized the proper stream of words to express what he needed to say. The words he’d fought so hard to deliver correctly would not do her justice. In an instant he realized this wasn’t something that was to be rehearsed. He took a deep breath and spoke from his heart. “I can look in you eyes and tell you exactly what our little girl will look like.”

Keesha’s atmosphere immediately filled with confusion and unease. Jason said those exact words to her after they made love for the very first time in Paris three years ago. “You…you remember Jason?”

“I remember everything baby, especially us and how much I love you and how we use to be.” Jason repositioned himself next to her so only an irrelevant amount of space remained between them.

She found herself lost in his eyes for a brief moment unable to move or speak. This surge of confusion instantly invaded her body. The moment was surreal then it passed. “I don’t know what you what you expect me to say but you don’t have the right to walk into my home and tell me you love me as if nothing has happened.”

“I think I do have a right to be here. And you don’t have to say anything. I came her to tell you I’m leaving in a few days and you’re coming with me. I’m taking you home were you belong. You’re going to marry me Keesha Ward and I’m going make you smile everyday for the rest of your life.”
