Chamber Rules and Regulations
The Chamber is an archive site for fan fiction and original stories featuring women of color.
All submissions are accompanied by a complete disclaimer (see the standard disclaimer below). If you would like to add your own individual disclaimer, please feel free to do so for your own protection.
Sample Disclaimer: All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners. The original characters and plot are the property of the author. The author is in no way associated with the owners, creators, or producers of any media franchise. No copyright infringement is intended.
Stories containing ANY sexual activity between underage (under 18) characters and adult (over 18) characters are prohibited. Chamber Administrators reserve the right to remove stories violating this rule.
All banners, links, cast photos or pictures OF ANY KIND added to stories/series/sumaries/chapters/notes etc must be no wider than 420 pixels and no higher than 300 pixels. All banners, links, cast photos or pictures OF ANY KIND added to member bio pages must be no wider than 420 pixels and no higher than 300 pixels. This includes the total width of multiple images added to any story or series summary.
Any image found to be in violation of this rule will be deleted by the administrators following a warning. Also, please be aware that if you place two pictures together on the same line that exceeds the width limit, this will count also as a violation.
Plagiarism of the work created by other Authors will not be tolerated. If you are caught plagiarizing the work of another, your account will be deleted. If you are unclear as to what constitutes plagiarism please refer to the following definition and guidelines. If you are still unsure, please contact a Chamber Administrator for further assistance.
Plagiarism: to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own: use (a created production) without crediting the source. It is unacceptable to copy another author's work. Imitation of another's characters, storyline and plot will not be tolerated. The Chamber Administrators retain the right to delete a story or account based on any of the above activity.
Titles and summaries must be kid friendly. No exceptions. "Please read", "Untitled", etc. are not acceptable titles or summaries.
Correct grammar and spelling are expected of all stories submitted to this site. The site administrators reserve the right to request corrections in submissions with a multitude of grammar and/or spelling errors. If such a request is ignored, the story will be deleted.
Spoiler warnings are expected on all stories and are mandatory if your submission relates to the current season of any related show. An example of an appropriate spoiler warning to place in your summary would be: Spoilers for The One In Which Addison Finds Her Magic. DO NOT post a spoiler like the following: Spoilers for the episode that J.R. Ewing gets shot.
Stories with multiple chapters should be posted as such and NEVER as separate stories. Upload the first chapter of your story and then go to MANAGE YOUR STORIES in your account to add additional chapters. If you need assistance regarding the proper way to upload a story to the Chamber please contact a site administrator.
The Chamber is an archive for works of fiction and submissions to the archive must be actual story submissions. Excerpts, story summaries, images (character pictures or banners), sample chapters, stand alone author's notes etc. are not allowed as stand alone submissions to the archive. This means that submissions of story summaries and character pictures with a note similar to the following "Almost finished with chapter one. It'll be posted later," are not allowed. Any such submissions will be deleted without notification by the administrators and repeated violations of this rule may result in further action up to and including removal of the author's account.
The exception to this would be an author's note that indicates that the story is being removed for publication. All other author/reader communication should be through the shoutbox and/or the forum. Please contact a Chamber Administrator if you have any questions.
All stories submitted to The Chamber must be labeled with all proper warnings. To select more than one warning from the list provided hold down the Ctrl key while selected all that apply. Please note: it is a violation of The Chamber Submission Rules to submit a story that is not properly labeled for content. Any stories submitted without proper warnings will be deleted from the archive. Repeated violations of this rule may result in deletion of the author's account.
Please review the following warnings listed on the archive. If you have any questions regarding these warnings please contact the administrators as soon as possible. Use the following guide when labeling your stories:

Shout out Box Guidelines
Use common sense. If you don't think you should type it then don't type it. Sometimes, it's best to keep some topics and information to yourself. If you feel the need to want to discuss such things then please do it on an instant messenger or another form of communication. It is not advisable to put too much private information in a public forum.
Be respectful to each other. Everyone should be treated with respect and common courtesy. Consider the shoutbox as our home and we are all roommates inside of it. You don't have to love each other, but you need to tolerate and respect each other.
Keep the atmosphere positive. The shoutbox is a place of positivity, so keep it as such. There is nothing wrong with a little debate, but there is a difference between unnecessary negative comments and a comment reflecting one's opinion.
Keep mature subjects at a minimum and censor yourself. Some of us all have talked about mature things in the shoutbox, but that doesn't mean the subjects doesn't make some people uncomfortable. Keep others in mind when you type something and if need be, please move the conversation to an external communication source. AIM and YIM are two of the many messengers that provide the option to do instant message conferences.
Additionally, if anyone has any concerns or would like to report misconduct then please contact the admins, so they can further investigate the matter before proceeding. Breaking the rules can result in one being banned from the shoutbox. Also, admins reserve the right to delete any offensive/derogatory comments, etc. Repeated reports and complaints may result in banning as well, but only after a proper investigation. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. Please contact admins via email, IM, or through the forum.
No spam. Spam will be deleted. Offenders will have account deleted.
Personal attacks against the author will not be tolerated. Please keep the comments relevant to the story.
No flame wars. Do not attack another reviewer for a review you do not agree with. If you feels that a review is in violation of the Chamber Guidelines, please report to a Chamber Administrator.
Please feel free to review stories. Reviews keep many of our authors motivated.
