Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10

Wowza! What on Earth is going to happen now? There are a few things here (my fan reviews and input):

1) As much as I love your passionate writing for each of the characters (Jack and Chase), it's a HARD pill to swallow between Lila and Chase. I get it that they love each other! In certain ways I am sure they do. But, for any moral standards Chase should have never gotten hooked on Lila and should have gone off to college, gotten through it, gotten grounded in life on his own and then..... Maybe.... together.... Not. Right. Now. Or. Anytime. Soon. - PERIOD.

2) It is definitely something that makes you question Lila's moral compass that she has fallen for her student so hard. And someone she should be counseling. It SEEMS true. And real and ever so HOPEFUL.... But I had to put that out there.

3) Jack is going to get over NOT having Lila. I don't pick up that Jack LOVES Lila compared to the LOVE between Chase and Lila.

4) All of this is psychologically worrying. Chase is the delicate one here. He is young and this scene is going to create a ballistic problem sooner or later - I guarantee. So hopefully, all is sorted out before Chase becomes physically self-destructive.

5) I have never known VOICES (the author) to write melodramatic stories - where the ending can only be "Chase offs himself in grief and Jack and Lila console each other. Or wind up guilty and alone..." [saying it so this hopefully DOES NOT happen]

6) The nutjob friend who stole his keys and Chase stayed with for a few days is at the bottom of it. I wonder if Jack slept with this chick and she (or her parents) are the ones pushing this investigation into her background as a threat OVER Jack....

7) I don't really trust Jack and I don't know how the photos honestly arrived there and worry that this is coming from a true psychopath.

8) I love ALL of your stories! I hope you update "Stereo" and "Trois."

Title: Chapter 13: Rule #10: No More Games

Hello Voices. I recently reread the most recent reviews. And aside from feeling similarly in massive withdrawals as the other reviewers hint at... :) I felt enlightened by the review from jdfd. I'm wondering.... Did Celia re-write the article and THEN submit it. It's not nice either way... but that IS a possibility. If Celia went on a lamenting roll about anything - it would be a "good article" for Shaun's boss. But hopefully not giving anyone the wrong picture about Adam. I'm grasping for answers and a hopefully happily ever after as I'm so in love with this story and the characters! They are a messed up crowd in their own specific ways, but that's what makes life. And that is what makes a GREAT story - which this is. I'm hoping you don't have any life stresses or writer's block preventing you from giving us some more AWESOMENESS! Happy Holidays! ~ Nim

Title: Chapter 16: “If anything happens to her I swear to god I’ll fucking kill you.”

Another set of questions come to mind:

1. What can Shaun do to make him forgive her? She would likely need to help him out of a bind or be one to set him straight should he run into trouble on anything else in the future. She could write a really amazing article about him (positively) and it could be in a New York magazine/paper.

2. What can Adam do to make her forgive him (and the African-American women of the world...)? He could create some amazing music, give some heart felt articles and work to make things better from his position in society and with his band...

3. How is Shaun going to fix herself? Get herself on her feet? Get a job and a place and some personal stability before trying to "get a man?" She will need to establish herself and really put her self-respect in place and work at being an honest person.

4.I wonder how Celia, Yoshi, Noodle, Janelle and even HIS and HER parents will affect their relationship? Will they try to help? What is THEIR input?

5. The media is not normally this quiet.... So what will take place on that front?

6. And last but not least, the scuzzie types; Veronika, Maxim and Adam's father (seeming to redeem himself somewhat) are all just hanging there....

Well..... those are the things running around in my belfry...... In case you had a chance to answer them all......

Hello Voices!!!!!!!!!! Please update soon! Dying for more chapters!!

On my trillionth read of this: I guess Adam does have a history (at least what his father is hinting at) with "dark skinned" people: “She likes ‘em old, you like ‘em dark… we all have our vices, son.” Does that mean Adam maybe dating someone like this at an earlier-than-famous time period?

Celia still boggles my mind: How does she try to get Shaun to get Adam to fall for her, and then get all crazy about it later.... Weird.

Shaun should just show Adam the email, NOW and explain everything and demonstrate some remorseful behavior and attempt to make it right. Even if only to be a friend. Such actions don't deserve his trust - honestly. But I love these two, so I hope she DOES try.

What's the total story with Veronica? Why does she right to cry about Adam - didn't SHE commit the sin there? That's a pretty crappy scene that went down with Veronica and his father. No wonder, no wonder! Yikes. [as I've said before]

I. BOW. DOWN. TO. YOU.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just looking at this story yesterday evening and was about to send you a message to ask if all is okay. Clearly it has been! This update is AMAZING and I am soooo happy with the characters and the story (I know it's a bit contrary since the 2 key characters are sufferring HORRIBLY right now), but it's TRUE! They had to get real and be real and see how HORRENDOUS they have been with each other! Serves them both right! But at least she isn't hiding anymore. Jeez. I think I had a several month migraine trying to figure how you would get her out of that mess with all of the horrible media dangers that could have come out with that article! And all the backlash! I have GOT to say something else: As I read this chapter for the 3rd time (yes, you know me, the FANATIC), I realized something; I wonder how toxic this father has been for Adam. Maybe with the father's clearly racist views (his comment in the club) is something that has truly rubbed off on Adam - that would explain something. But that also got me wondering: if Adam HAD down that road before (earlier conflicts in racial related things). Here's why I'm thinking: a) because the comment from the father implied it being more than one instance..... - not just referring to Shaun (it seems....) and b) because there MUST be some earlier connection these two (Shaun and Adam) must have had... I mean, COULD he have known her at a younger age - is he the dead ringer of Shaun's childhood days....?????

Ohhhhhh I'm just grasping for a HEA (Happily Ever After) since it all looks entirely DISMAL right now... Seriously. And can Shaun learn to LOOK at her friggin friend Celia? And see what Celia is TRULY doing?? And Jackson for that matter? Since when is a tabloid/expose/tell-all/"how to _____" writer taken for a truly credible journalist? Which planet? Which country? Which century? Let's be real....

Now, what's up with Yoshi and Veronica hanging out or even TALKING?! I guess because Yoshi does have a BRAIN he was wondering about that note.... But, seriously... I kinda like Adam's group. They seem nice, even the crazy Noodle! But I hope nothing more sinister is going on? Or... Is Yoshi connected to Celia?! I know it's a far stretch but.... why is Celia on a vendetta to ruin Shaun or her happiness or Adam? Either she has something up with Adam herself or someone close to him.... And Yoshi has been a wild character... I just wonder..................

If Adam leaves her, I would NOT be surprised! I can't even begin to think what Shaun could possibly do to make it up to Adam. It's nice and all that she LOVES him (yes... it's got to be true by now), but people don't have such secrets and still get along well. It's going to be a tough blow to their trust factor.....

Where's Janelle when you need her? Janelle is a wonder-worker and could perhaps help salvage something here before it goes to print....?!

And I've got to tell you, Adam has EVERY friggin right to be DISGUSTED with his father and never forgive him!! What. In. The. World. Is. That?! Sleeping with your son's girlfriend?!?

The dad has got some serious demons and issues of his own to deal with - including a wife (or ex-wife) that fathered his 2 children (Adam and Katie) who is a drug addict. Maybe if he cleaned up his own life, the wife would come back to him and want to clean up hers... Just saying....

Karma is a b----!

And so is Celia (btw). I don't know if SHE deserves a happily ever after - since this game was started by Celia. And Shaun rightly or wrongly agreed to it and here is where it stands.... YIKES!!!

Man, oh man, oh man, oh man!

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm now completely insane (trust me, still a good thing) about this friggin story!!!! Ballistic, that's what's gonna happen next!

I can only hope a pray for a few things:

a) that Celia has an aneurysm and dies [can't blame me for wishing that]

b) that Celia sent it to herself

c) that Celia modified it and has it be a happy ending article

[I think I'm hopelessly dreaming that Celia has ANY redeeming qualities in A through C above]

d) that Shaun RAPIDLY tells Adam what happened before making him completely inebriated as he is going to storm out of that house fast enough to make her head spin and I PRAY he doesn't get into a car crash for drinking and driving or anything else self-destructive (being that his ex, his dad and all else is caving in....)

e) that the editor can be reasoned with and will change the story....

 

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm freaking out for Shaun and more so for Adam as he doesn't need this garbage on his plate. Seriously. Shaun is a stupid, stupid person to even "write" the rest of the article! It's absolutely ridiculous! While Celia has access! While Celia is being a nutjob!

Dearest Voices, just so you know, I've now reread this story from the beginning, 5 times (count them - 5) because I like it so much. I've now gleaned every possible ounce of knowledge and love and respect for all characters and I'm still feel like my addiction is not even slightly assuaged. And frankly, I wouldn't want it to be. But seriously, please finish this story! You're a great writer! If you need any ideas or beta'ing, let me know (LOL - but serious at the same time). Wow! This is amazing! What a massive, MASSIVE, problem Shaun has. This is painful. No matter which way she looks at it - it seems horrible consequences will exist on each end of the stick (either choice). But, sadly, sadly, the real answer IS to get honest. Any other delays or lies or omissions of full disclosure, will result in a more painful situation. Sadly. Celia is NOT helping her. Not sure why. But she (Celia) ISN'T. A true friend would make Shaun face the real truth and come CLEAN. The ONLY real answer IS the painful one - TELL HIM - and NOW without any further delays. And Adam: he has to look at his own house and get straight. Why was he hesitant when she asked if he slep with anyone else - I noticed that - has he? What's up with the Veronica chick. Adam and Shaun both need to do some soul searching... You have got me on a roll Voices..... Thanks for your writing. Thanks for your entertaining. You are a great writer.
