UGH, well there goes me liking Brian. A few cliches at the start but i'm a sucker for cliches. Though to be honest i think you should have held on to the tid bit of info that Brian is a lying, cheating sac of crap just a bit longer....unless of course it is your intention to set him up to be a character readers won't find sympathy for or at least in the beginning. Either way i'm hooked. I'm looking forward to your next update!
