Summary:

Stereotypically Yours

Matheson felt that VaLysia was just another angry black female when she brought her grandmother to dinner at his mother's request. VaLysia thought Matheson was just another uppity white prick. Neither of them expected the sparks to fly!

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Preconceived Notions

Lol...loving what I read so far.
That exchange in the music room was hilarious!

Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Confrontation and Conflict

Is grams's name Evelyn or Ethel? She was introduced as Ethel but referred to as Evelyn a few times in the conversation.

As a "light skinned" black woman, I embrace my blackness. My niece refers to me as yellow and we never had a discussion about color or race. She was when she insisted that she was brown, her dad is black, and I am yellow. I dont understand where she got it from but it wasn't from the adults.

I knew a girl in college who was half black, darker than me, but because she had "good" hair she would state she wasn't black.

Great message in this update!

Author's Response:

Thanks for catching my error.  Grandma's name should be Ethel.

Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Passion Night.

Emily is a freak LOL. Communication is key to any relationship and that's why Emily and Gregory make it work. I LOVE THIS STORY!

Matheson is trying to do too much too soon. I thought they were going to wait until they went to Virginia. I can't wait to read the rest.

Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13 Unexpected Vacation

He is better off telling Val about this convo Tameka is a mess.
If I had cousins like that I would most definitely avoid them like an unwanted disease.

Title: Chapter 14: Chapter 14 With This Ring

Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 15 Ignorance and Attitude

Terry is a trip...that was uncalled for and disrespectful. Why do certain people feel the need to voice their opinions when they weren't asked?

Gramps asked if it was legal to marry collored people HILARIOUS.

Tameka's skanky behind needs to afind a hobby. I hope Matheson tells Val about this and the other meeting because it's obvious Tameka is up to no good.

Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 11 Celebrations and Decisions

I loved it!

I can understand Mavis and Emily's devotion to each other. I am glad Mavis shared it with Gregory and I am also glad he came around.

Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Confrontation and Acceptance

I thought it was a surprise bday dinner?

Gregory said he met Emely when she was 20 and he was 15, but Mavis said 18 and 13.

There doesn't seem to that much personality difference between Emily and VaLysia LOL.

Geat update!

I love this chapter! She is naive about the condo bit. Birth controls don't protect agains pregnancies 100%. I hope she doesn't get a surprise bun in the oven.

Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8 Feelings and Fears

HILARIOUS!

It funny when white people say, "I'm not prejudice; I have black friends." If you think ill of people regarless of color, they are not your friends.

Great update!

Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7 Facing the Flack

"Giving your word was a big deal. Giving your word was mortgaging your family's name and honor."

I forgot to comment on this line. In this day and age, people have lost sight of this concept.

Great message!

Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Curiosity and Compromise

Matheson's father better be glad that VaLysia is understanding of his son's problem-not many women would. When he told her about his problem, she was supportive, but he said she may deal with it now, but it may be a problem in the future. I wonder if he's right...will he be enough for her?

Author's Response:

Thank you for your review.  Usually in stories the man is such a stud, lasts forever, etc, and I wanted to write about a man who had a few issues because men really do have issues.  We dream of the perfect man, but alas, he doesn't really exits.  LOL.  I wanted Matheson to be strong yet have some vunerabilities. It's another stereotype that men are always ready to perform, always able to perform, etc.  That is not always true.  More to come soon.

Title: Chapter 33: Chapter 33 Hidden Agenda

Maybe Emily's mother sat there while he conducted business, but Matheson couldn't imagine Emitt Matheson having warm and cozy moments with his daughter while he was conducting business... It should say Langston.

Author's Response:

Thanks for catching that.  I've fixed it.

I am glad that Hannah got a taste of her own medicine just in reverse.LOL

Tameka is a damn fool! She is sinking deeper and deeper. I am so happy Matheson has his thinking cap on but he should have told the detective about gramps.a

Title: Chapter 40: Chapter 40 Facing the Truth

Was a coincidence tha Hannah beau's name is Emilio-male version of Emily?

When is a Tameka going to tell the truth or is she going to make Matheson discover it?

I am going to miss the multiple update :) but I do hope you update soon

Author's Response:

OMG!  I didn't even think about Emilio/Emily LOLOLOLOL!!!!  I just wanted a sexy Latino male for her!

Now you've got my juices flowing here and my minds working...

Title: Chapter 37: Chapter 37 Education and Compensation

Tameka had the opportunity to tell the truth and she didn't. I don't feel bad for her. I am glad Matheson knows how to add; he put two and two together and I can wait for when they go after gramps.

I am glad Hannah found somebody.

Title: Chapter 36: Chapter 36 Wisdom and Regret

Gramps is HORRIBLE! I can't believe he would stoop that low.

Didnt Matthew stop her from drinking the cocktail?

I am glad it wasn't Val that got raped that would've been too traumatizing. Rape is never okay, Tameka was playing with fire and she got burnt. If she wasnt dealing with the devil she wouldn't have been through that.

She was evil and she is paying for it. The punishment may or may not fit the crime, but the crime wouldn't have happened if she was not a willing participant.

Author's Response:

Matthew stopped her from drinking the beer that Tameka had bought her so that he could buy her another one and spike it.

Tameka bit off more than she could chew and now she's paying for it.  Matheson's father is going to get his for sure!

Thanks for the review!
