Title: A Heart Redeemed (Sequel to the Preacher's Son)

I think Max has gotten better, but she's so selfish and insecure AND SHE KNOWS THIS. Yet she blames everyone else for her problems instead of blaming herself (for the problems she causes) and Rogers (for what he did). She spent her whole life containing that anger and now she doesn't know how to hone it in. I think she needs to confront Roger, even if he's dead. The only way to get over her demons is to confront the foundation and the source. I love how understanding Matt is, but he has to remember that a few months ago he did everything in his power to convince his family that "race mixing" was bad. Obviously, he has some issues too.

 

I love that the characrers aren't perfect and don't pretend to be, but they all seem to act so young like high schoolers, ignoring whats right in front of their eyes. I think Nate is the most secure and adult person in this story. 

 

Needless to say, I love it.
