However, as she closed her eyes to make a wish and blow out those candles, the real blow was the realization that in another year she was turning the big 3 0 and had yet to even have a genuine relationship.
Turning thirty was one thing, but turning into a young old maid was another…Therefore, she blew out her candles and made a wish-a pact-with herself. She had one year to today’s date to find a man to fall in love with and help her blow out that extra candle. The challenge would be just that sweet and effortless as the cake she was cutting right now.
If only she knew, love is never that simple…
I think that you should continue...encorporate that new book, where the author swears that she can help you find a man in 30 days. This story could be fun in that she trys online dating, read books, but the love that is hers is right in her face, sheseems him every day bit because she has been so obsessed she pays no attention to him until one evening when she is devastaed bt meeting another fool, they connect...good luck.

Spencer Edwards is a happy bachelor. He’s got a great job, lives in a great penthouse, and thanks to his good genetics, a fair amount of luck where the ladies were concerned. Family was the furthest thing from his mind, but apparently, life had other plans.
His world is turned upside down when his older sister and brother-in-law die suddenly, leaving their two young children in his care. Spencer can barely take care of himself, and he’s not so sure he should be placed in charge of anyone else.
But a light appears at the end of the tunnel when spirited, no-nonsense live-in Nanny Reese Talbot enters their lives. Through ups and downs and self-discovery, Spencer learns just what it takes to be a Family Man.
I think that this is a great start to the story and I understand why you didn't concentrate on the tragedy as they are already gone and now Spencer has to concentrate on taking care of two children and as he has stated he doesn't feel that he is the appropriate person to take care of them. Thank goodness for his personal assistant who is capable of handling him and giving him the courage and support that he needs to take care of the children. As for his parents, they are on a safari for three months wow, that is so cool, but they will be devastate by the loss of one of their children. Thanks for a great read.
