Gage and Macy needs to sit down and lay the cards about their feelings for each other, their desires/wants for the future and how THEY are going to talk to her mother.

I'm going to put myself in Violet's shoes right now. I think she overstepped, it's find to give your opinion and voice your concerns but it's Mercy's life. She has to sink or swim on her own and I know she's trying to show tough love but it can backfire and she could lose her daughter.

Well, I'm thinking some time on her own is what she needs. You do learn a lot about yourself on your own. And I think Mercy needs to learn more about herself and how to be strong and know that she can be independent. And just plain form her own opinions about things and life. Its no more than what Gage has. He has his own home, a career that he loves and his own resources. Also, a total sense of himself. He knows who he wants and what he wants from life. I want the same for Mercy.

And I wont be too hard on Violet just yet. Maybe she thought an ultimatum was what Mercy needed. Gage sort of does the same thing with Mercy. MAKE her confront things! Sometimes Mercy just wont. She stopped talking to Gage when that precisely what she needed to do. Then said her mom made her do it although there was more to it than that.

Glad Gage was supportive...even though it was a bit self-serving. But at least comprehends the situation. Violet and Gage will work it out.

Wow what is Gage going to say? I'm sure he is not going to back down from letting Mercy's mother know he is in love with Mercy.

Gage is not giving up on what he wants and that is Mercy! Now he needs to convince Mercy's mother. I think he needs to talk and express his love for Mercy and intentions to Nana June first or with Nana June and Violet together.

I know I'm being greedy, but.....Don't stop there, I need more! LoL...So Mercy's 3 days are up and she's been avoiding him.....Homegirl is in so much trouble. Can't wait for more.

While I loved the orginal version of this story, this version of Gage is much more dominant and I am definitely liking it. I'm glad he's not letting Mercy push him away and I'm glad he's going to say something to her mother. Violet has a right to be concerned for her daughter's future, but why can't her future including a career and love?? Sure there's the risk of something happening to Gage, but there's alway that risk regardless of what the person does for a living. Why wouldn't she want her daughter to have a chance @ happiness no matter how short rather than be miserable? Hopefully someone, maybe Nana June, will put it into perspective for Violet and stop her from coming between Gage & Mercy.

I knew Gage wouldn't  let her get too far.   Move in with Gage Mercy, it would make Riley loose her remaining sliver of sanity.

Well, I cant say that I disagree with Violet about Mercy to some extent. She needs to get her ass in gear! I don't want her staying just for Gage! She owes it to herself to give herself at least a year to try because in some ways she needs more of a sense of herself as an independent woman. She might regret not giving herself a least that bit of time. However, if she's cool with never trying anything just for herself, that doesn't include her family, friends, or Gage, fine then. I think they could work it out. Again, just no regets later.

And I'm going to go ahead and give Gage credit in advance for supporting Mercy if she indeed does make a decision to get out in the world for a little while and find herself minus all of them. That's not a bad thing.

If Mercy's mother push Mercy too soon she may loose her daughter. She does not need to push her out the nest based on Gage. 

I believe Gage's priorities is Mercy, her happiness, which of course includes her in his life. He probably has or is trying to figure out his present situation/job and how it is going to fit in his life with Mercy. I'm sure he knows Mercy wants a job and the possibility that job will take her from home. We need his POV.

I believe Mercy's priorities are just emerging. Of course she wants a job and realizes that that job is not home. However, she is coming to realization that she is in love with Gage and does not know how he fits into the picture and his true feelings for her.

Gage and Mercy need to sort their feelings out and set their priorities out together.
