If the incident described in chapter 1 was a one off then okay. But if not then that then I have say Derek's realisation that he was an ass back in high school lacked a little something. I'm not sure what it is but that was less than satisfying.

I agree with you. It's not good when the author isn't satisfied with it, you know it's not good. But I'm debating on rewriting that one or just rectifying in the next update. But thanks for reading.

Interesting that he said it wasn't personal. Mayte was the chosen one - the one whose life they chose to make a misery. But it wasn't personal. It never is for the people who bully, but for those who are bullied it's very personal!
Derek might be fine, but he's an unfeeling asshole.
Really enjoyed this chapter. It will be interesting to see where this goes.

She went through all of that to get an apology and she still feels lower than pond scum. Is that why she's stripper because she feels that she doesn't deserve better? Derek is still an asshole but he's fine! I want Mate to let go of all that anguish so that she can do better. I want bother Mayte and Montana to realize that they can do better and deserve better. Did they even try to look for real Jobs? You can't put stripping on a resume, they can lie and say that they danced but the name of the club would be a dead giveaway. So good!

liking that our heroine has come thru her bullied past triumphant, however the storyline between Mayte and Derek looks predictable, he'll tell her he really liked her that's why he did what he did blah blah. I am only someone who appreciates an excellent read, but i am coming from a bullied background and if i had a chance to face my bullies i would hope to be strong and not fall for any verbal shit that will try and pacify the past. Make Mayte strong please, do not have her climbing into Dereks bed in the nex chapter or even kissing him :)) let him work hard for her please...... just a humble opinion....:))
