Thirteen years away from her child. Thirteen years away from her mother... I can't imagine the pain those two have gone through. I can understand Niara's feeling of abandonment on both sides, but there is surely more to the story. I don't know what would drive Cathleen to stay away for as long as she did; I don't think there is ever going to be a good enough explanation, but I want to know just as much as Niara does.
Good reading! Can't wait for more!

Poor, young naive Cathleen. It seems both she and her daughter will be growing up at the same time. And Nathaniel... heaven save us from selfish men... sorry 'boys', cuz he sure as shit ain't a man.

Can't wait for the next chapter. The part about the guy denying the baby, and being cold and hostile, that happened to my friend. As a result she doesn't trust men. Anyway, I hope Cathleen survives. So she can raise her daughter.

Description of the labor pain brought back some memories---I felt for Cat. She was so young and naive. I can't wait to read more.
