Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 6

This chapter kind of confused me, was it a dream of hers that she will wakeup from? I think his attitude changed too fast for me it seems too unrealistic for how he was just a few days ago. I personally like how he was before he was 100% honest about what he likes and is attracted to there is nothing wrong with that just because he is not saying something she wants to hear doesn't make him a bad guy. You have to respect him because he isn't lying. Right now how its going seems like a fanatasy of hers.  One thing I didn't like is how everyone treats her and her easy acceptance of it that concerns me. great update thank you

No, it wasn't a dream. I understand where youa re coming from. I have re-written chapter 6, specifically Dmitri's dialogue because I felt that it strayed too far from his personality. While his attitude may seem like a dramatic change it actually was a long process and he was sort of at a stalemate. He couldn't stop thinking about her so his only recourse, even though he has a history of avoiding long relationships, was to give it a try. I hope the re-write better explains this. I am probably the only one that doesn't understand why she is still so mad at him. A lot of their problems was she couldn't stay in her own lane. He told her to stay out of it but she kept pushing. sure in the end he ended it badly. However, he was upset and worried about his sister. that doesn't make it right but her attitude to me is uncalled for. where is her blame? or is it all just on him. sure she's stronger now but her attitude is a little off. Sorry I like him from the beginning, I just think as in all relationships we need to respect others boundaries and she didn't know hers. He is calmer now and will treat her better but she needs to get off that horse...

Well I like that she's not such a push over HOWEVER he is a grown man, why he didn't admit that they slept in the same room!!!?? WTH...

She needs to tell him his sister is a biotch and get it out in the open..

I hope he stands up for her when it goes down, I know it's going down just a matter of time.

haha. Other readers have expressed similar feelings. All I can say is that as much as Sasha needs to grow as a person so does Dmitri. His fear of people being taken away (like the way Nadia was taken from him by his father) is actually somewhat similar to Sasha's fear of being alone but, instead of clinging to people, he distances himself so that he is not hurt if it does happen. we'll just have to wait and see if he is able to overcome this and finally admit how much Sasha means to him to other people. Just loved this chapter,

Sasha is getting so much better then how she was in the beginning she wasn't hiding in the corner when his brother started talking to her. Good for her.

Dmitri is now starting to feel jealous about her which is great maybe he will not take her for granted.

I loved their private scene together not necessarily talking about them having sex but the fact that when he was stressed he came to see her and they actually TALKED.. excellent update.

I didn't realize it was still that bad in 1971?? They sound more like the 50s instead?

It had toned down somewhat but in 1971 the KKK would still march down Hull street on summer nights.  In 1971 I was in the 9th grade and when I went to orientation to a former school that was white, my mother drove me to 7-11 for a drink which was a block from the school and a white man jumped out and started calling us niggers.  Half of the whites moved out of the city once forced busing started because the didn't want to go to school with blacks. 

Things didn't get better instantly, at least not here in VA.  Traditions die hard.
